VKV Balijan SS Latest News

Personal Development Camp was organized in school from 2nd October to 5th October 2017. Students from nearby Govt. Schools participated in it. There were 43 students of five schools (Govt. Higher Secondary Schools =14, Govt. Middle School, Lanka=12, Mahatma Gandhi Middle School Dufflagarh = 14, Govt. Middle School, Taraso = 01, V.K.V, Balijan= 02) attended the camp. After evening prayer, all the students were given chance to introduce themselves. Further, they were divided into three groups- Lohit, Siang and Subansiri.

Next day morning onwards, daily routine started with wake up at 5 am, pratahsmaran and yoga. All the students assembled at 8.30 for sessions. There were following sessions taken by senior teachers.

The Universal Brotherhood Day celebration was graced by the CO of Tarraso, Shri Rome Mele, who is the alumni of VKV Roing and Jairampur. Near about 400 people (parents) were present in the programme. The programme started by 10:30am with invocation prayer. The welcome address was given by the Principal and the significance of the Day was delivered by Shri AK Mishra.

The Chief Guest shared his experienced as an ex-vkvian with the audience. He advice the students to utilize the golden opportunity of being a student of VKV.  The students presented a very colorful cultural programme and the programme concluded with shanty mantra.

Guru Purnima was observed on 9th July 2017. Shri Ashok Kr. Mishra spoke in the Morning Prayer on the occasion. Student showed their respect and love toward teacher during evening prayer. Student decorated the hall with rangoli and posters.

Ammaji, trainer of Chinmaya Mission graced the occasion as guest lecture. She gave detailed information on Guru Parampara from Ved Vyasa she chanted few Vedic hymns and cleared the meaning.

After her speech, school captain and school vice captain invited all teachers to seat in front and all students turn-wise in line came forward to touch the feet of all and sought blessings. House wise Guru Bhajan Competition was held wherein all groups used all musical instruments for Bhajan. Total 190 students, 13 teachers and family holder attended the program.

Dree festival celebrated in school campus on 5th July 2017. Smt. Shanthi Manoharan, Principal gave a speech on the importance of Dree in the Morning Prayer. Class IX students’ prepared local dishes in mess for Dree. Kum. Techi Ami of class X spoke about Dree. After evening prayer, house-wise local dance competition was organized for classes III to V. they participated enthusiastically for their house. After Dance competition all teachers and students enjoyed ‘Damin Da’. Total 194 students and 13 teachers with family holders attended the program.

VKV Balijan conducted its Matri Puja on 13th February 2017 with sensitivity of great feeling and enthusiasm from students of class X along with their mothers in the school prayer hall during 10.00am to 12.40 pm. The day remained memorable by the activities and sharing the experiences. The program was overwhelmed by the presence of Sri. Krishna Kumar sir, Member of VKVs AP Trust who graced the occasion with his presence as resource for conducting puja and mentioning the significance of the day. Also Dr. Ravikant Altekar, retired Scientist of BARC India was also present during Matri Puja. The prayer hall was cleaned and decorated with multi-coloured   rangoli and pictures prepared by children about Mother and baby.

The students along with their mother started arriving at venue at 9.00 am onward. All the students washed the feet of their mother and entered the hall after registration and offering the flowers to Bharat Mata’s portrait. Mothers were seated in chair and their wards at their feet for performing puja. The program began with Mangalacharan by the students. Smt. Shanti Manoharan, the Principal of VKV Balijan welcomed VKV Member and parents. It was followed by the group song – Ma Naman Karu… by the students of class X.  Sri Krishna Kumar sir explained on importance of the day. He included following points :

21st Jan’17   - Sri. Krishna Kumar Sir had a brief interaction with Balijan students before the prayer. After the evening prayer Sri. Kumaravel sir briefed the participants with guidelines of the camp.  Partcicipants also practised  shibir geet.

ISHAN VIKAS Programme 2016 for VKV Balijan was held at IIT Roorkee. The programme was to start from 5th of Dec’16, we left for Roorkee on 3rd Dec morning to reach Roorkee on 4th Dec. evening, a team of 10 students of 9th standard (8girls& 2boys) and Su. Dipshikha Biswas.

On 5th the registration of participants was followed by the sessions as Journey of IITR, Knowing yourself, wonderful world of engineers, leadership and personality development and then reading habits. On 6th formal inauguration was kept wherein Dr. P.K. Ghosh, Director graced the occasion with lighting the lamp and valuable speech. On 6th  to 9th & 12th to 14th the sessions included visiting labs, all the departments – architects, physics, chemistry, biotechnology, mathematics, humanities& social sciences, earthquake engg. labs, hobbies (technical) club, library , computer lab etc. In all the labs visits, departments practical demonstrations were given as well as students got chance to interact with the faculties.  Apart from these, there were sessions on ethical values, carrier guidance, better communication skills, art of living, sports, yoga, and SPICMACAY.

All the session were organized & conducted by the HOD’s, Deans, faculties, students got a chance to interact freely with faculties.

On 10th and 11th fields visit to FRI (Dehradun) Forest Reserch Institute, museam, solani Aqueduct, Haridwar & Hrushikesh was there.

Students got excellent exposure to the wonderful world of Science technology, mathematics  as well as human values / ethics of life.

The coordinator for the programme at Roorkee was Dr. Apurba Kumar Sharma (Assoe. Prof., MIED).


VKV Balijan celebrated its National Youth Day with involvement of staff and students enthusiasm on the 12th of this month in the school premises during 10.00am to 12.10 pm. The day remained remarkable by the cultural concert of students and the address of Shri. Choudhary D. K. Roy, the manager of Dufflagarh Tea Garden,who graced the occasion as the chief Guest. The whole campus cleaned as well as pandal was prepared and decorated with multi-coloured papers ,flags, wall Magazine and Craft  Exhibition made by students.

The program began with lighting the lamp accompanied by Mangalacharan. The Principal spoke a few words to welcome the manager and other guests. It was followed by Importance of the day from Km. Tok Yallam student of Class IX. There were eleven  cultural Programs, but  the hallmark of the function was the English Drama ‘Based on description’ presented by cl.IX students which made everyone to enjoy. The speech delivered by the chief guest was implausible to the celebration. He included following points :
