Mobile Science Exhibition at VKV Balijan

On 30-8-25, a mobile science exhibition was conducted by the National Science Center, Guwahati, in collaboration with the Science Center, Itanagar, at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalay, a Balijan. This exhibition aimed to demonstrate scientific experiments in a fun way. A bus from NSC Guwahati arrived at VKV Balijan with all scientific equipment at 11:00 AM. A total of 4 experts were in the team, and their names are –
1. Sri Jeet Kumar – Science communicator, NSC Guwahati
2. Sri Bikas Dekha – Technician, NSC Guwahati
3. Sri Gopi Yangda – Education Assistant, Science Center, Itanagar
4. Sri Biri Tachung – Technician, Science Center, Itanagar
Sri Bhairab Singha, Chemistry Teacher at VKV Balijan, was given the responsibility for arranging the necessary details and communicating with the team.
All students from classes VI – XII participated in the exhibition. It was conducted in the prayer hall. A total of 225 students, including boys and girls, were present. Teachers were also present with the students.
The principal first introduced the members to our students. Then, experiments were started. They show experiments regarding Physics and Chemistry. In physics experiments regarding the center of gravity, thrust concepts were used. In Chemistry experiments of acid-base indicator, hydrogen gas balloon, elephant paste-like experiments were used. Students enjoyed a lot and finally visited inside the bus, where more scientific exploration was there were shown.
This type of exhibition increases scientific exploration among students; they become energetic and enthusiastic.
