On 30-8-25, a mobile science exhibition was conducted by the National Science Center, Guwahati, in collaboration with the Science Center, Itanagar, at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalay, a Balijan. This exhibition aimed to demonstrate scientific experiments in a fun way. A bus from NSC Guwahati arrived at VKV Balijan with all scientific equipment at 11:00 AM. A total of 4 experts were in the team, and their names are – 
1. Sri Jeet Kumar – Science communicator, NSC Guwahati
2. Sri Bikas Dekha – Technician, NSC Guwahati
3. Sri Gopi Yangda – Education Assistant, Science Center, Itanagar
4. Sri Biri Tachung – Technician, Science Center, Itanagar
Sri Bhairab Singha, Chemistry Teacher at VKV Balijan, was given the responsibility for arranging the necessary details and communicating with the team. 
All students from classes VI – XII participated in the exhibition. It was conducted in the prayer hall. A total of 225 students, including boys and girls, were present. Teachers were also present with the students. 
The principal first introduced the members to our students. Then, experiments were started. They show experiments regarding Physics and Chemistry. In physics experiments regarding the center of gravity, thrust concepts were used. In Chemistry experiments of acid-base indicator, hydrogen gas balloon, elephant paste-like experiments were used. Students enjoyed a lot and finally visited inside the bus, where more scientific exploration was there were shown. 
This type of exhibition increases scientific exploration among students; they become energetic and enthusiastic. 

The Independence Day celebration at VKV Balijan commenced with the Prabhat Pheri, which began at 5:45 a.m. The participants returned to the school at 6:20 a.m. The Chief Guest, Mr. Dhrubojyoti Bora, General Manager, arrived at 6:40 a.m. The national flag was hoisted at 6:42 a.m., followed by the felicitation ceremony.
At 6:48 a.m., the March Past display was held under the command of Km. Jina Sangdo, Class IX, with Km. Tarh Ayum, Class X, serving as the Band Commander. The Chief Guest addressed the gathering at 6:59 a.m., after which the march past dispersal took place at 7:05 a.m. The morning programme concluded at 7:08 a.m.
After breakfast, the hostellers proceeded to the general ground for the community celebration starting at 9:00 a.m. The Chief Guest for this session was Smt. Tem Pika, Zila Parishad Member. The March Past parade was once again led by Km. Jina Sangdo.
The programme concluded at 11:30 a.m., and the students returned to the hostel campus by 12:30 p.m. The day at VKV Balijan was marked by patriotic spirit, enthusiastic participation, and a sense of national pride.

Raksha Bandhan or Rakhi is a special occasion to celebrate the virtuous bond of love between a brother and a sister, which is one of the deepest and noblest of all human emotions. 
On 9th August 2025, VKV Balijan celebrated the occasion with great joy and enthusiasm. The program started with the lighting of the lamp by ZPM Smt. Tem Pika followed by an invocation. SSG members and 4 Sankal pramukhs were also present. Then Principal VKV BALIJAN formally welcomed everyone. Principal, SSG members, all teaching and non-teaching staff, Sankul Pramukhs, Gana Pramukhs, and Saha Gana Pramukhs, along with family and students offering the Rakhi to Om, Ramakrishna, Maa Sarada, and Swamiji. After offering the Rakhi to Om, Ramakrishna, Maa Sarada, and Swamiji, all SSG members, Sankul Pramukhs, Students, Teachers, Gana Pramukhs, and Saha Gana Pramukhs also tied Rakhi to each other. The importance of the day was well described by Chulvi Nalo, a student of Class IX.   Sri. Nabam Hachang, sir, an active member of the SSG group, delivered an important speech of celebration of Rakhi. He also emphasised the importance of bonding between the students of our school especially the hostellers. 

Swami Vivekananda Janma Tithi was celebrated at VKV – Balijan on 21st January 2025 with a true spirit to spread the message of Swami Vivekananda and the ideologies of Vivekananda Kendra.
The programme was arranged in a befitting manner by involving all the hostellers and day scholar students of VKV – Balijan along with 350 parents, 32 well-wishers, 05 school supporting group members and 16 inmates of Vidyalayas.
The programme started at 10.30 am with the lighting of a lamp by the chief guest followed by an invocation prayer led by the students. The chief guest of the programme was Shri O. Ajit Singh, Inspector of NDRF, Hollongi. Shri Shyamal Chakraborty, Principal, VKV Balijan, delivered the welcome address.
The significance of the ustav was spoken by Kum Jiri Dirchi of Class-IX, she highlighted the motto of grand Utsava. She mainly focussed that Swami Vivekananda had been the centre of inspiration for the entire nation and his teachings are the guidelines to make Bharat Mata Jagat Guru.
Then students of VKV Balijan displayed various performances depicting the motto of the celebration of grand utsav. They have performed various programs such as, 
i). Song "Hay Vivekananda Swami " by Moji Riba House, 
ii). Hindi Drama based on the life of Swami Vivekananda " Maa ki Mahanta" tells us about the mother's sacrifice and her efforts for her children, as well as her role and value in our life.
iii). Patriotic song "Ho jao teyar sathio" by our little champions in the primary classes.
iv). Pyramid display and Yogasanas by our primary students of Class III, IV and V which was the centre of attraction.
v). Hindi drama on great Arunachalee freedom fighter Taji Mederan of Lohit. 
The themes and messages which were conveyed to the audience through our students’ performances were emotion, respect, belongingness and feeling proud to be an Indian through patriotic songs.
The prizes of PVWQ & School Level competitions and Proficiency prizes were distributed to the successful students by the Chief Guest on the stage.
Shri Ajit Singh, NRDF, delivered his speech in front of the gathering. He motivated the students with his valuable words "Do the best and live the rest". He said the students being the students of VKVs must inculcate the words of Great Personality Vivekananda in their life.
The complete programme was anchored by Kum Yorum Nakha, Class-V, who trained wonderfully with selected Vivek Vanis presented during the programme.

On 21st june 2022 VKV Balijan celebrated 8th international yoga day with the theme  'Yoga for humanity'.

It was attended by 32 teaching and non teaching staffs, 268 students.

VKV Balijan conducted the Matri Puja for the outgoing Class X students today i.e. 05^th March 2022 at 10.30am in the school prayer hall.

Altogether 32 parents out of 34 adjusted their time to attend this important programme. Smt. Radhelu Chai Techi, Ex-Chairperson, Women commission, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh has graced the occasion as Chief Guest.  “I thank VKVs in Arunachal Pradesh for giving such an opportunity to the students to extend and show their unbreakable love and affection to their parents by conducting such  programme”, she said while addressing the august audience.

At the outset, Sri. T.M. Sathian, Principal VKV Balijan formally welcomed the guest and the parents.  Smt. Anjali Das, Teacher VKV Balijan spoke on the significance of the day. Sri. Pankaj Kumar, Sanskrit Teacher conducted the Puja with religious fervor.

As a part of the programme, some of the students and parents shared their experience of attending such programmes for their wards in the school. “It is a heart touching programme which cannot be forgotten in my life”, one of the parents remarked as a token of love for conducting such a programme.  

Smt. K. Amudhavalli, Science Teacher extended the vote of thanks.  The entire programme was presided over by Su. Latashree Deo, Mathematics Teacher.

The programme ended with Shanti Mantra.

 VKV Balijan won the first prize in District Level Science Seminar (Yupia) and adjudged to attend State level competition. Kumari Champung Paffa of class IX is going to attend for the said event from our school.

VKV Balijan won the District Level Kho-KhoTournament Under 17 Girls category organized by the DDSE Yupia and qualified for participating in the State Level Competition.
