
VKV Balijan observed world environment day on 5th June 2018 by organising various programmes in the school. Sri Amitava Mondal, science teacher spoke about the significance of the day in the morning assembly. To mark the occasion, drawing competition was organised in the school premises of various classes on the subject nature and industry and environment. In this regard, the students of class IX and X planted saplings in the school campus.

VKV Balijan conducted its Matri Puja on 15th February 2017 with sensitivity of great feeling and enthusiasm from students of class X along with their mothers in the school prayer hall during 10.00am to 12.40 pm. The day remained memorable by the activities and sharing the experiences. The program was overwhelmed by the presence of Sri. Krishna Kumar sir, Member of VKVs AP Trust who graced the occasion with his presence as resource for conducting puja and mentioning the significance of the day. The prayer hall was cleaned and decorated with multi-coloured rangoli and pictures prepared by children about Sharada Ma and Swami Vivekananda.
The students along with their mother started arriving at venue by 9.30 am onward. All the students washed the feet of their mother and entered the hall after registration and offering the flowers to Bharat Mata’s portrait. Mothers were seated in chair and their wards at their feet for performing puja. The program began with Mangalacharan by the students. Smt. Shanti Manoharan, the Principal of VKV Balijan welcomed VKV Member and parents. It was followed by the group song – Ma NamanKaru… by the students of class X. Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Balijan celebrated ‘Samarth Bharat Parva’ from 25th December to 12th January 2018. On 25th after evening prayer Swadhyaya on the life of Swami Vivekananda conducted for students in 4 groups of class VII-X & 4 groups of Cl- III to VI. From 26th Dec. Onward Vande Mataram sung and delivered speech by the teachers & students on Samarth Bharat. The students who has secured A1 in all subject in periodic tests are awarded during Samarth Bharat Parva. Aahuti Satra performed on 9th Jan.2018, Sri Nupur Teli senior teacher of Govt. Hr. Secondary School Balijan was invited as guest speaker. The Birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda as well as ‘National Youth day’ celebrated with great pomp out show.
The occasion was graced by the honble’Chief guest, Sri Likha Teji, Ex President ANSU, Social Worker. The School supporting members and parents attended it. There were around 600 people witnessed a cultural programme by students.
The Chief guest adressed by highlighting various messages of Swami Vivekananda and advised the students to use mobile in a right way. The overall programme was quite smooth and Successful. There was a Class X parents meeting conducted by Sri B. Nagarale with PPT. Around 30 parents out of 35 attended it and followed by PPT on SBI Collect explained to parents by Sri Sanjit Bhadury.
Library week was observed in Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Balijan from 21st Nov’17 to 25th Nov’17. In this Library week, some important and also some interesting activities were done in our school. Some important activities like- Book Review, Display of Books, Book Subscription on student’s own name, Book donation, put thoughts on wall near the Library etc and also Library Orientation were conducted.
And some interesting activities like Puzzle Game and Library visit were done in this week.
From 21st to 25th Nov’17, Book Review was told by students of class VI to IX who had given the best book review to Library from the month of June’17.
Library Orientation Programme was given from class I to VII students on different days from 21st Nov’17 to 25th Nov’17. In Library Orientation Programme, a introduction about Library, how many sections are there in the library, what are those, importance of Library, rules of Library- these kind of things were told by the Librarian. This orientation programme was taken to get the students familiar with the Library.
One more important programme was done in Library week. It was ‘A Library visit to Tetunpukhuri H.S School’. On 23rd Nov’17, class V students went to visit the library of Tetunpukhuri H.S School of Assam with the librarian and other two teachers. During this Library visit, the students got so many information and knowledge about a Library. In our school, the Library is maintained by Open Access System. But in that school library, they have maintained Close Access System. It means students can’t go to the Book Stack Area. If they want any book than they have to write the name of the book and give it to the Librarian. So by this process, the Library was maintained very well.
25th Nov’17 was the last day of Library week. From class III to X, top three students were selected who have read the highest number of books from June’17 to Nov’17. So in the Assembly, those three names were declared by our Principal Smt. Shanti Manoharan Didi.
At last, the programme was finished successfully. The students fully utilized the library during this week; they got aware about the library. So, I hope they will use the library like this in future also.

Children’s day is celebrated on 14th November 2017 in School ground. Two activities are organized for students. First, Talent show was conducted for Primary students. Students performed local dance, group song, drama, Gita chanting, duet tabla show and speech on Jawaharlal Nehru. Parents of Primary students were invited for the program. Second, senior students prepared various dishes house wise and made food stalls. All children were given chance to play games and win, so that they would eat by providing coupon to them from any one food stall. Normal rate was fixed for each item. Many parents also enjoyed the ‘Food Mela’.
Nearby 70 parents, 350 students and all teachers, Grade IV Staff with their families attended the program.

Schools Annual Sports and Cultural Meet 2017 were organized on 29th, 30th November and 1st December 2017. Sri Ramprakash Yadav, Headmaster of Mahatma Gandhi Rastra Basha Vidyalaya Duffalagarh, was invited as the Chief Guest for the program. 20 individual games conducted for primary, middle and secondary students separately for girls & boys during 08:30am to 2.00pm every day. All prizes also were distributed on the same day. 4 group events such as volley ball, Kabbadi, Badminton and Tug of War conducted house wise separately for all categories. Cultural competition was conducted for all houses during 6:00pm to 8.00pm at night in the Prayer hall.
Nearby 370 students, all teachers, grade IV staff and their families are involved in the meet and the cultural program.

NCSC held on 26/10/2017 at Doimukh higher secondary school. Two teams participated from our school cl-IX and X.
