Cluster Level Principal Meets
Cluster level Principal meets were conducted in all the six clusters namely Tirap, Lohit, Kameng, Papum Pare, Siang and Subansiri during the month of July. Principals and Cluster- In-charges from the respective Clusters were present in the meetings. Sri P M Unnikrishnan, Education Officer was present in all the meetings. Smt Pratibha Kulkarni was present in VKV Kharsang venue and VKV Ziro venue. Sri R Krishna Kumar was present in VKV Kharsang venue. The meetings reviewed the activities conducted so far and the planning of respective schools. All the Principals shared good practices of the schools so that other schools also can adopt new practices. Action taken report of various previous meetings and visits of Kendra elders were discussed. Other details like staff position, reporting on the ongoing construction works, academic target setting, new evaluation pattern, monitoring strategies etc. were also discussed.
Annual Principal Meet
The Annual Principal Meet for the current session was convened from 21 to 23 July at VKVAPT, Dibrugarh. The meeting had the gracious presence of Dr Joram Begiji & Dr TejumPaduji, Trustees, Mananeeya Bhanudasji, General Secretary, VK Kanyakumari, Mananeeya Pravinji, Joint General Secretary, VK Kanyakumari and Secretary VKVAPT and DrSristidharDuttaji, a noted educationist and Administrative Committee member, VKVAPT. All the Principals and the VKVAPT officials were present in the meeting.There were deliberations from Dr Tejum Padujiat the very beginning of the Meet and by Dr Joram Begiji at the concluding sessions on various aspects. Probodhan by Bhanuji on ‘Spiritual Development and Man making’ took everyone in a journey of spirituality and infused new vigor to carry on the punyakarya. Apart from these, there were discussion on new evaluation pattern, academic and activity calendar, Vivek Inspire, New Admission, Result analysis of various classes and Board examinations etc.
Trust Board Meeting
The Trust Board Meeting of VKVAPT was held in VKV Itanagar on 29th July. Trustees present were Dr. Joram Begiji, Shri. Jatan Paluji, Dr. Tejum Paduji, Shri. Bhanudasji, Shri Pravinji, Shri Rinchin Dorjeeji, Shri. Latsam Khimunji. Shri. Rupeshji, Joint Secretary and Smt Pratibha Kulkarni, Sri Arun Raj Singh Shekhawat also were present in the meeting. The meeting reviewed the activities conducted in the last session and passed the financial budget for the session 2017-18. In addition there were other decisions relating to Vivekananda Kendra College of Teacher Education (VKCTE) etc.
Computer Teachers Workshop
In order to give a fillip to the computer education in VKVs, a computer teacher workshop was conducted from 4th to 6th August. 17 teachers from 16 VKVs participated in the Workshop. Smt. Sunli Bhatia from Rachan Sagar publication was the main Resource person of the workshop. At the formal inauguration program, Sri P.M Unnikrishnan, Education Officer, VKVs highlighted the importance of computer education in the schools. The Resource persons took various sessions on the newly introduced books. All the teachers did practical with full participation. Sri Arun Raj Singh Shekhawat, Administrative Officer, VKVAPT addressed the participants at the concluding function. Sri Hardik Mehtajiand Sri Prem Rajan, VKVAPT ensured the smooth conduct of the Workshop with an ideal daily routine.
Inauguration of Computer Lab and Digital Classroom@ VKV Dollungmukh
VKV Dollungmukh has been bedecked with a Computer Laboratory and five digital classrooms. The same was inaugurated on EknathjiPunyatithi Day, 22nd August by Sri. Rakesh,the Executive Director of Subansiri Lower Hydro Electric Project of NHPC at Gerukamukh in the presence of the officers of the project, the students and staff of the Vidyalaya. The labs will cater to the need of the budding school.
Visit of Well Wishers
Smt Rama Didi, a well-wisher of Vivekananda Kendra visited VKVs Liromoba, Oyan, Yingkiong, Jirdin, Jairampur and had interaction with the students and the staffs during the month of July. Dr Minakshi Barve, a noted educationist,visited Lohit and Tirap Cluster schools and KGBV Barap from 15th June to 12th August. She observed the classes of teachers, scrutinized the lesson plans, checked the notebooks of students and provided valuable suggestions. On the whole, she conducted 29 classes for teachers and observed 85 classes. Dr Vasant Barve, an IITian and a retired professor visited VKV Roing and guided the teachers and the students of the school as well as neighboring schools. He motivated the staffs and the students to raise technology enabled teaching and learning platform.

Vivek Inspire Selection Test
The Vivek Inspire Project, which aims to nurture the gifted children through tailor-made program, is in its third year. The program is a collaboration of VKVAPT and Jnana Prabodhini, Pune. In order to select new batch of students for the program, a selection Test was conducted on 8th July in selected schools. The selected students are inducted in the program and receive all the training.

The Workshops have introduced many new topicsfor the participants in addition to the GMAT practice sessions. Activities like Diary Writing, Star gazing, insect collection Project, paitings, traditional games, outdoor activities were conducted. Movies like ‘Inside Out’, ‘Makade’etc. were screened which were both entertaining and educational.
Hosting of District level program at VKV Wessang
VKV Wessang hosted the launching program of Smart Class for the first time in the district of East Kameng. Sri Kata Rangmoji, DDSE Seppa while inaugurating the program emphasized on the various advantages of Smart Classrooms and shared his views about the changes to be brought by Smart Classes. Sri Gauranga Das and Sri ApurvaRanjanLenka, teachers of VKV Wessang who co -ordinated the program attended a training program for the same in BRC, Seppa. Now VKV Wessang has been equipped with a Smart classroom to provide digitalized instruction to the students.
Local Festival Celebrated
The local festivals of the respective locality in which the VKV is situated is celebrated with lot of enthusiasm in which the students get an opportunity to inculcate in their own tradition and culture. In addition to the school level programs, students and staffs participate in community based program. In the month of July, Dree festival is celebrated by the Apatanis. VKVs Vivek Vihar, Ziro, Itanagar, Balijan celebrated Dree festival in the school.
District Level Science Seminar
The VKVs of Arunachal Pradesh showed excellent result in the District level Science Seminarsconducted on various dates on the topic “Swachh Bharat: Role of Science &Technology”

Celebrations
The celebrations during the month of August namely Independence Day, RakshaBandhan, Krishna Janmastami and Ganesh Chathurthi have brought new vigor to the schools and offered opportunity to connect to the community. The students and the staffs did early preparing for the celebration. For the Independence Day program, band parties and March past teams were given practice well ahead time. Program on the day included Prabhatphery, flag hoisting, March past with band in public programs. On the Raksha Bandhan Day, in addition to school level program, school students escorted by teachers visited nearby places and tied Rakhis to foster the spirit of brotherhood. Krishna Janmastami celebration included Radha Krishna Competition, Short Skits from the life of Sri Krishna, Krishna bhajan Competition, Matka breaking competition etc. Students in groups sculpted the idol of Ganesh for the celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi.
Parents Meetings to appraise them about new uniform system of Assessment
Many VKVs conducted parent’s Meetings to appraise them about the new uniform system of assessment. With this attempt now, parents have been sensitized about the same.
Participation in State Level Competition during national reading month
Selected students of VKV Itanagar and VKV Vivek Vihar participated in the state level Art Competition conducted by the Department of Public libraries, Govt of Arunachal Pradesh as a part of first everNational reading month from 18th June to 19th July. Vasundhara Buragohain of VKV Vivek Vihar and Rosemoyee Bhuyan of VKV Itanagar stood first and third respectively in the competition.
NSS Orientation Program
An orientation programme for NSS volunteers was held at VKV Itanagar on 4th August. Dr. A. Ibotompi, State Liaison Officer, NSS, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh inspired the students by elaborating the motto of NSS and gave a brief account of the activities to be undertaken like blood donation, cleanliness drives, construction of public facilities, awareness programme etc.Sri Uthaman VN, programme officer led the NSS pledge. Dr. Kakade Rajendra Chhagan, Principal of the Vidyalaya and Sri Patil Pankaj Balasaheb also spoke on the occasion. 250 students and 10 teachers attended the programme.
Visit of Youths from Chinmaya Mission
20 youths from Chinmaya Mission led by Swami Mitranandaji halted at VKV Shergaon while on their way to Tawang on 12 August. Br AnandaChaitanya stayed in the campus from 15th to 19th August 2017. During his stay, Swami took classes for students and teachers of VKV as well as students and teachers of neighboring schools. The stay of Br Ananda Chaitanya in the school proved to be beneficial for all and created a positive vibe in and around.
Being in the first year of new evaluation pattern introduced by CBSE, all the schools are involved intensely in academic to assimilate the same to the system. At the same time, the schools are also getting ready and chalking out plans to celebrate the 40 years’ service of VKVs in Arunachal Pradesh and the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sister Nivedita.
