This school was started in the year 2002. It is a co-educational school. However, the hostel facility here is available for girls only. It is located at Baghey Tinali, Nirjuli in Papum Pare district of Arunachal Pradesh and is 17 kilometers away from Itanagar. This district is surrounded by Kurung Kumey district in the North, Assam in the South and East, and East Kameng district in the West. The inhabitants of the district are mainly Nyishis and since the district houses the capital of the state, it has a considerable number of people from other communities as permanent residents. This school is up to Higher Secondary Level having science and commerce stream. It is just beside NH 52A. Admissions are available for day-scholars in class I and hostellers in class IV. Hostellers are generally admitted from among the day- scholars as per the availability of accommodation.

The persona of Swami Vivekananda and Mananeeya Eknathji, the founder of Vivekananda Kendra, is at the heart of the Institution. Vivekananda Kendra’s core values of selfless service, patriotism, character-building, man-making, and nation-building permeate the entire educational experience.
