
On 21st January 2025, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (VKV), Raga organized an outreach program on the occasion of Vivekananda Jayanti at the Police Station, Raga to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. A team from VKV, including Shri Shyam Gautam, Shri Subhankar Das, Shri Durga Bahadur Sonar, Su Phebow Gangsa, and the Principal, Shri Pramod Kumar Gupta, led the event.
Chronology of Events
The program began with a vibrant student procession through the streets of Raga, with participants enthusiastically shouting slogans of “Swamiji ki Jai” to honor the legacy of Swami Vivekananda and spread his inspiring message.
Upon arrival at the venue, the events proceeded as follows:
1. Lighting of the Lamp: The program was formally inaugurated with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, symbolizing knowledge and enlightenment.
2. Welcome Song: Students of VKV Raga performed a melodious welcome song, setting a joyful tone for the occasion.
3. Welcome Speech: Shri Napho Wangsa, SI Raga, an Ex VKV student delivered welcome speech, expressing gratitude to the attendees and the Chief Guest.
4. Swadesh Mantra: Risha Pabo, a student of Class VII, recited the Swadesh Mantra, instilling a sense of national pride among the audience.
5. Importance of the Day: Shri Shyam Gautam eloquently spoke about the significance of National Youth Day, highlighting Swami Vivekananda’s contributions and relevance in today’s world.
6. Traditional Dance: VKV students performed a traditional dance, showcasing the region’s rich cultural heritage and adding a vibrant touch to the event.
7. Speech by the Chief Guest: The Chief Guest, a representative of the police station, delivered an inspiring speech, emphasizing the importance of Swami Vivekananda’s teachings in building a strong and responsible youth.
8. Vote of Thanks: Shri Durga Bahadur Sonar extended heartfelt thanks to the Chief Guest, teachers, students, and audience members for their participation and support.
9. Offering of Flowers and Shanti Mantra: The program concluded with the offering of flowers to Swami Vivekananda’s portrait, followed by the Shanti Mantra, fostering an atmosphere of peace and unity.
