SISTER NIVEDITA JAYANTI was observed on dated : 28th October 2020, in the school prayer hall of VKV-Shergaon with 22 students of Class-X, 3 students of Class-XII and 12 staff members of the campus.
The programme was started with the lighting of lamp followed by invocation and then welcome address by Shri Shyamal Chakraborty. Smti Pinki Biju highlighted the ‘Life and message of Bhagni Nivedita’ and explained her contributions to the Indian society.
All the participants offered flowers to the portrait of Sister Nivedita. The programme was concluded with vote of thanks followed by Shanti Mantra.

The universal brotherhood day is celebrated among the staff members in a fruitful way. Due to the pandemic of covid – 19, alumni, villagers, and SSG members are not invited to attend the programme because gathering was not permitted by village council in the Shergaon.
At 9.30 a.m., the programme was organised in the school prayer hall. All the teachers and non-teaching staff members are present. All the staff members offered flowers in the front of Swamiji’s portrait. The welcome address was delivered by Shri Shyamal Chakraborty and it was followed by speech on Chicago Address. The group discussion on the topic “Vivekananda Shila Samarak : Ek Bharat Vijayi Bharat” was conducted.
On dated : 22nd August 2020, at 9.15 a.m., Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated in our school prayer hall with Sri Rinchin Norbu ji, Cluster In-Charge of Kameng Cluster and other staff members of VKV-Shergaon. Sri Rinchin Norbu ji lighted the lamp in the front of Swamiji’s portrait and Sri Ganesha idol. Shri Shyamal Chakraborty, Principal and others offered flowers. Shri Shyamal Chakraborty delivered the welcome address. The significance of the day is beautifully explained by Shri Hari Shankar Mahato. All the rituals with proper mantras of Lord Ganesha are performed and it is followed by offering of flowers and bhajans.
Shri Rinchin Norbu ji explained the important points which essential for us to improve ourselves as a karyakarta of our Vivekananda Kendra. The programme was concluded with the Kendra Prayer.
On dated : 22nd August 2020, at 5.00 p.m., Man. Eknathji’s punniya Tithi is observed in our school prayer hall with Sri Rinchin Norbu ji, Cluster In-Charge of Kameng Cluster, Alumni members, SSG members and teachers of VKV-Shergaon. Sri Rinchin Norbu ji lighted the lamp in the front of Ekanthji’s portrait and offered flowers, which was followed by offering of flowers from all. Shri Shyamal Chakraborty delivered the welcome address and explained about the life and message of Man. Eknathji. The book ‘SADHANA OF SERVICE’ was presented through PPT presentation by Shri Shyamal Chakraborty and Shri Pinki Roy. Shri Rinchin Norbu ji explained the key points which is told by Man. Ekanathji in this book ‘Sadhana of service’.
On dated: 3rd August 2020, we celebrated Raksha Bandhan festival in our school prayer hall with same enthusiasm and joy like earlier days. The total number of 56 participants attended the programme.
It was a good time for us to interact with the members of SSG, Shergaon Youth Association, private hostel owners, VK Karyakartas and family members of our staff team.
The programme was started at 11 a.m., with lighting of lamps which was followed by invocation. Shri Shyamal Chakraborty, Principal, heartily welcomed all the members present there and it was followed by importance of the day from Shri Leki Bhai, Yuva Manch Pramukh, VKAJP, Shergaon.
Some teachers of VKV-Shergaon presented a melodious patriotic song and it was followed by presentation of a patriotic song from the members of SYA.
Some of the alumni members shared their experiences of VKV-Shergaon life. All the members offered flowers and rakhee to Swamiji and Lord Buddha and it followed by tying of rakhees by sisters to all the brothers.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Shri Madhusoodhan Sir, of VKV-Shergaon. Lastly, the programme was concl uded with Shanti Mantra at 12.30 p.m.
‘Guru Poornima’ with 48 participants in the School premises under the guidance and blessings of the Local Lama Priest of the Monastery being invited along with two SSG Members in the presence of 22 teaching and 8 non teaching staff and 15 staff family members following proper SOP’s of Covid 19. The programme was a grand success with the chanting of sanctifying Guru Mantras and the pious speech of His holiness, Zengbu Lama of the Shergaon monastery where in, he blessed and wished the members of VKV to march ahead for the peace and success. The programme is concluded with shanti mantra. Later, a ‘swadhyay’ was conducted among all the teaching staff guided by the Principal, which was based on the letter of Mananeeya Nivedita Didi, regarding ‘Guru Poornima’.
The programme was started at 10:45 AM in the prayer Hall. sri Dhrubraj Maity sir lighted the lamp followed by three Om karas, Sahanababatu Mantra and importance of day was given by Dhrubraj Maity sir. The puja was conducted by R.K Sir. Anchoring and vote of thanks were given by Shri Shiva Kant Dubey sir. All teachers, students and non teaching staffs were present in the Varsanta Puja programme.
