Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Itanagar celebrated Universal Brotherhood Day on11th Sept 2019 in Eknathji Centenary Hall. Altogether 250 parents, 450 students and all the staff of school attended the programme. Dr. Kakade Rajendra Chhagan Principal formally welcomed and felicitated the Chief Guest Dr. Joram Begi (Vivekananda Kendra Prant Sanchalak, Arunachal Pradesh) Chief Information Commission Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh. There was also the presence of Shri Vasant Barve as Guest of Honour on this occasion.

Dr. Joram Begi addressed the august gathering of the audience and briefed about significance of the day. Moreover he emphasized the completion of 50 years of Rock Memorial of Swami Vivekananda and the different activities undertaken in all the Nation to mark this celebration like a Maha Sampark Abhiyan (Ek Bharat Vijayi Bharat). He also spoke about the historical Chicago Address of Swami Vivekananda which was pure call of Universal Brotherhood and universal acceptances in the year of 1893.

In response to vide circular CBSE /DIR(ACAD) 2019 dated on August 26, 2019, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Itanagar Chimpu District Papumpare Arunachal Pradesh had arranged the necessary things to telecast the live programme of "Fit India Movement" at Eknathaji Centenary Bhavan.

Before the commencement of the live telecast briefed concept of the programme was given to all students. Class VI to IX students were involved in this telecast programme. Over all 264 students and teachers attended the live telecast of "Fit India Movement"

Janmashtami was celebrated at VKV Itanagar on 24th August , 2019. All The teachers, students and 450 parents were present on the   special occasion. The program started at 09:30 am with welcome address by Principal, Dr. Kakade Rajendra Chaggan.

Dr. Shiv Prasad Mishra told significance of the day in delightful manner to all the gathering.

The Chief Guest Shri. B. D. Meena, Principal Kendriya Vidyalaya Itanagar No. 2 addressed the audience with a wonderful speech on the relation of Janmashtami with present day situation and brief history of Lord Shri Krishna's birth. Smt. Biri Yalik Chairman School Supporting Group was present on the auspicious occasion as guest of honour.

The following programme were present to mark this special day.

1. The students of class I & II took part in Radha Krishna's attire competition.
2. Class IV Girls sang a mesmerizing Krishna's bhajan.

Life Skills:- As the word describes, are the abilities required to effectively deal with demands and challenges of life.

Encouraging teachers to develop their own set of life skills and use them to prepare the youth to face the challenges effectively, an interactive day long workshop was conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Dr. Sujata Choudhary (Ex. Principal of Hindustani KV) was the resource person of the day Around 9 teachers from different schools participated in the workshop at good Shepherd School, Naharlagun, on 8th August’ 2019.

The session began with group division and each group was asked to name the group and followed by group activity which helped participants to become aware of their own understanding about Life Skills.

Second session began with group activity in which Teaching Techniques were provided to us and we was asked to present merits and demerits of the techniques and the life skills that can be developed using these techniques.

Third session began with individual activity in which participants were asked to solve some problems given in handouts.

Fourth session began with Drama presented by participants in a group.

Closing session began with individual activity of question and answers.

The objective to be achieved, as per CBSE by conducting this workshop was to make teachers well equipped with Knowledge that can help them manage and deal with innumerable instances happening inside / outside the classrooms.

On 5^th and 6^th of August 9, 2019  two English teachers from Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Itanagar  went to attend the two day workshop held at Good Shepherd School, Naharlagun.

 The total number of teachers expected to be 16.But unfortunately many of them did not attend.

After a brief introduction, the sessions were held. The resource person highlighted the objectives of National Curriculum Framework (NCF) . The following are the objectives of language teaching-learning.

1. The competence to understand what they hear.
2. Ability to read with comprehension
3. Effortless expression
4. Coherent writing
5. Creativity

The first day three sessions were held. The first session was a group activity where participants had to discuss and present on a topic “ What is the difference between learning a mother tongue and a second language. Are the stages of learning same?”

73^th Independence Day & Rakshabandhan was celebrated at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Itanagar with gaiety and fevour.  As it was reminder of how Rakshabandhan is associated with India's struggle for independence. 
At the outset the National Flag was hoisted in the school premises by Shri. Dr. Kakade Rajendra Chhagan, Principal VKV Itanagar followed by his address to the assembly of students and teachers on the auspicious occasion of Independence Day & Rakshabandhan. 
It was followed by :

1. Rakshabandhan Celebration in Eknathji Centenary Bhavan where Shri Pankaj Kumar addressed all the gathering and told the significance of the day. 
   Thereafter all the girls tied sacred thread on the wrists of brothers. 

        2.Then there were House-wise Cultural Competitions of  Patriotic & Traditional Dance, Patriotic Songs Competition of boys. Each house has represented their

Patriotic Dance with unique themes. Total 600 students along with staff, parents & well wishers attended the programme

The Prachodaya Shibir 2019-20 for class VIII high achievers of VKV Itanagar was held at VKV Itanagar of the year 2017 – 18 and 2018-19. There were 25 students out of which 14 Girls and 11 Boys. The Shibir has the following sessions.

Session I:- Inauguration

1. Mangalacharan by Class XII Girls.
2. Welcome Address and Objective of the Shibir by Principal VKV Itanagar.
3. Felicitation of the Chief Guest and Guest of Honor.
4. Speech by Chief Guest Shri. Karbia Dodum (Joint Director Sangey Laden Sports Academy). He spoke on his schooling in VKV’s. He shares his experiences of his school life which gave him values, moral lesson and spiritual thoughts.
5. Speech by Guest to Honor. In his speech the following points are highlighted.
6. How to create positive Thinking
7. How to be happy
8. How to become grateful.
9. To co operate  with others
10. Vote of Thanks by Smt. Shilpi Das Gupta.

The Department of Science and Technology has initiated a National level programme for Innovation in Scientific Research and Development.

Inspire  Manak Award Programme (School Level) was organized on 25/07/2019 in which  4 Innovative ideas were given by  different Students  which were sent to Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India and it will be forwarded to District authority for its approval.

The name of the Students are as follows:-

2. Sanket De-VIII
3. Prasant Shil Sarma-IX(B)
4. Km Tushmi Das Gupta –IX (A)

The further Process will be followed after getting approval from the District authority to participate in the next level.
