Samarth Bharat Parva, observed annually from 25th December to 12th January, is a significant initiative aimed at awakening national consciousness among students and strengthening pride in India’s rich spiritual, cultural, and intellectual heritage.
The observance of Samarth Bharat Parva at VKV, Longding began a day earlier with the staff members on 25th December. On this occasion, the Principal addressed the staff briefly, highlighting the spirit and purpose of the Parva. The programme included Bharat Mata Aarti and Pushpanjali, marking a solemn and devotional beginning to the celebrations.
The formal inauguration with students was held during the morning prayer on 26th December. The programme began with the inspiring singing of“Vande Mataram”, filling the atmosphere with patriotism and reverence for the motherland. Addressing the gathering, the Principal of the Vidyalaya, Sri Samiran Barua, highlighted the significance of Samarth Bharat Parva and emphasized Swami Vivekananda’s vision of a strong, self-reliant, and awakened India. He recalled Swamiji’s historic meditation at Kanyakumari from 25th to 27th December, 1892, undertaken for the spiritual resurgence and glorious future of the nation.
Further strengthening the message, Sri Nishikant Pathak, Teacher, spoke on the global contribution of Yoga, highlighting India’s priceless gift to the world and its role in nurturing physical fitness, mental clarity, and inner harmony.
A solemn tribute was paid to Bharat Mata as an outline map of India was drawn, and a diya was lit, symbolizing unity, strength, and hope. The Bharat Mata Aarti, along with the Bharat Mata Aarti song, created an atmosphere of devotion and patriotism. Students and staff members offered flowers, reaffirming their respect, gratitude, and commitment to the nation.
The inauguration of Samarth Bharat Parva at VKV, Longding, concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, uniting everyone in a shared bhavna of pride, responsibility, and dedication towards building a strong and empowered Bharat.

VKV Longding celebrated Gita Jayanti, Indigenous Faith Day cum Amrit Parivaar Milan on 01.12.2025. The celebration began with a Welcome Song by the students of Class VIII. The Principal of the Vidyalaya, Sri Samiran Barua, extended his warm welcome to one and all and briefly highlighted the value of cultural awareness and the teachings of the Gita.
The significance of Gita Jayanti and Amrit Parivaar Milan was presented by Sri Saroj Kumar Sharma, where he explained how the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita guide individuals and families to follow Dharma, unity, and responsibility. The significance of Indigenous Faith Day was highlighted by Km. Senggoi Wangpan of Class VII.
Students presented Gita Shloka Chanting, followed by dance performances by Classes V, VI and VII. A short drama by Class IV conveyed an important message based on Sri Krishna’s guidance to Arjuna— that sometimes firm and courageous action is necessary to stop adharma and protect righteousness.
The Chief Guest, Sri Wangfyak Wangsu ji, delivered his Blessing Words, where he emphasised the importance of Amrit Parivaar, and explained the significance of the Six Bha (Bhasha, Bhusha, Bhajan, Bhojan, Bhavan, Bhraman) and the Five S (Sukhi, Swastha, Sampanna, Samskar-ksham, Samaj-dharana) as guiding principles for strengthening families.
A special part of the programme was the Kendra Varga, which was conducted for the parents. They enthusiastically participated in games, learnt some basic agnyas, and later engaged in a meaningful charcha. This session helped the parents understand the values of togetherness, discipline and cultural bonding.
The programme concluded with Sankalp taking feedback from the Principal, and the chanting of the peaceful Shanti Mantra, followed by Kendra prarthana. The entire programme was anchored by Su. Banjita Patir.
Teaching

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Longding, observed Sadhana Diwas cum Library Week on 19th November 2025 with devotion and enthusiasm to honour the birth anniversary of Mananeeya Eknathji Ranade, the founder of Vivekananda Kendra. A few days before the programme, the teachers conducted swadhaya of Nivedita didi’s letter and the book Spiritualizing Life, from chapter 7, 8, and 9 of part IV, as a preparation for Sadhana Diwas and to deepen their understanding of Eknathji’s ideals. On the day of the event, during the school assembly, floral tributes were offered to Eknathji’s portrait, marking a respectful and meaningful start to the day’s celebration.
The main programme begins after the 3rd period with the lighting of the lamp and an invocation prayer, creating a serene and respectful atmosphere. The Principal welcomed the Chief Guest, Special Guest, teachers, and students, and also felicitated the guests.
Students of Class IV then presented a melodious Eknathji’s Song. This was followed by the speech of Su. Banjita Patir, who briefly explained the importance of Sadhana Diwas and the library. She highlighted how Eknathji’s life teaches us dedication, discipline, and service, and reminded the students that reading and using the library regularly helps them grow in knowledge, confidence, and good habits. Immediately after the speech, the first edition of the school publication ‘Vikas Vaani’ was released, making the occasion more special.
Various literary competitions, such as storytelling, poem recitation, speech, character role play, and extempore, were held, where students showcased confidence and creativity. Km. Ngammyo Gangsa presented an inspiring Eknath Vaani, followed by the Chief Guest’s address, in which he encouraged the students to lead disciplined and purposeful lives, drawing inspiration from Eknathji.
After this, the Vote of Thanks was offered, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the programme. The stage programme concluded with the Shanti Mantra, followed by the Kendra Prarthana.
The gathering then moved to the inauguration of the newly decorated library. The Chief Guest, Special Guest, and Principal jointly inaugurated the library. Students had decorated the library with colourful posters, artwork, quotes, and book displays, making it an attractive and inspiring place for readers.
The celebration marked a meaningful observance of Sadhana Diwas cum Library Week 2025, reinforcing the values of dedication, knowledge, and purposeful living inspired by Mananeeya Eknathji Ranade.

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Longding celebrated the 150th Anniversary of Vande Mataram with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The celebration took place on the school ground, where all the students assembled and stood together forming the map of India, symbolizing unity, patriotism, and love for the motherland.
Adding to the pride of the event, jawans from the Assam Rifles joined the program, standing alongside our students in the map formation. Their presence brought a deep sense of respect, inspiration, and national pride to all.
The program began with a Welcome Address and the significance of the day by Su. Banjita Patir, Teacher Faculty, who highlighted the historical and emotional significance of Vande Mataram — the song that awakened the spirit of freedom and continues to unite every Indian.
After the speech, students of Class VII presented a skit on “Unity in Diversity”, which conveyed a powerful message that our nation’s true strength lies in unity and togetherness despite differences in culture, language, and traditions. The skit was well-received and left a lasting impression on everyone present.

Following the skit, all students, teachers, and the Assam Rifles jawans together sang the Vande Mataram song in unison, while maintaining the beautiful map formation. The powerful chorus filled the air with emotion and patriotic pride.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Su. Banjita Patir expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Assam Rifles for their participation and to everyone who contributed in making the celebration successful. The program came to a serene close with the chanting of the Shanti Mantra, praying for peace and harmony. The day’s celebration truly embodied the spirit of national unity, reminding everyone of the timeless message of Vande Mataram — “I bow to thee, Mother.”

The Parent–Teacher Meeting (PTM) was conducted on 25/10/2025 in the school premises with great enthusiasm and active participation from both parents and teachers. The objective of the meeting was to strengthen the bond between parents and the school, discuss students’ progress, and plan for their holistic development.
The programme commenced with a soulful invocation prayer, invoking divine blessings for the smooth conduct of the session. Following this, the Principal addressed the gathering and explained the purpose of the meeting, highlighting the vital role of cooperation between teachers and parents in shaping the character and academic growth of students.
Next, there was an introduction of all teachers, allowing parents to get familiar with the educators who guide their children throughout the academic year.
The session continued with Kendra Parichay, presented by Shri Nishikant Pathak Sir, who spoke about the mission, activities, and values upheld by the Kendra. His talk inspired everyone to work collectively towards the development of students in all dimensions — physical, intellectual, and spiritual.
Following that, Su. Gitashree  Bora delivered an informative presentation on the Exam Pattern, elaborating on the assessment methods, grading system, and upcoming examination schedule. Her explanation helped parents understand the evaluation process clearly.
Next, Su. Sumitra Borhgohain presented a detailed Result Analysis, providing insights into the overall academic performance of students. She discussed the areas of improvement and appreciated the sincere efforts made by students and teachers alike.
After the presentations, an open session was conducted for Parents’ Inquiries, where parents actively interacted with the staff, sharing their feedback, suggestions, and concerns. Their involvement reflected their genuine interest in the progress of their children.
The Principal then gave a reply to the parents’ queries, addressing each point patiently and assuring continued efforts from the school’s side for the betterment of students. The Principal also emphasized the importance of teamwork between home and school in nurturing discipline, confidence, and values among learners.
After this, a medical team visited the school to create awareness about the recent outbreak of measles in Longding and to inform parents and teachers about the importance of the Rubella vaccination. The session was highly informative and helped parents understand the need for timely vaccination to ensure the health and safety of all organised
The entire programme was anchored by BP, who smoothly guided the proceedings and ensured the programme ran in an organized and engaging manner.
A total of around 180 participants, including parents, teachers, and staff members, attended the meeting. The active participation of the parents made the event successful and meaningful.
The meeting concluded on a positive note with mutual appreciation and a shared commitment to continue working together for the all-round development of the students.

The festival of Deepawali was celebrated with great enthusiasm and devotion at VKV Longding. As part of the celebration, a house-wise Rangoli Making and Diya Decoration Competition was organized on 18th October 2025 for students of Classes IV to VIII. The students participated actively, showcasing their creativity and artistic skills through beautiful rangolis and decorative diyas that brightened the school campus.

On 20th October 2025, the entire VKV Longding family came together at 5:00 p.m. to celebrate the festival by lighting diyas and offering Laxmi Puja. All staff members, along with their family members, participated in the puja with devotion, spreading the message of light, unity, and positivity. The celebration concluded with prayers for the prosperity and well-being of all.

On the occasion of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s Birth Anniversary, the school organized a Recycled Model Exhibition to encourage creativity and environmental awareness among students. The event aimed to promote the idea of making “Best out of Waste” and to inspire students to use waste materials in a creative and purposeful way.
Students from different classes actively participated in the exhibition. They prepared their models during the mid-term vacation using various waste materials such as plastic bottles, cardboard, egg trays, chart papers, and used boxes. With great enthusiasm and imagination, they created models like houses, flower pots, the human digestive system, the solar system, and decorative flowers made from recycled materials.
The exhibition was supervised and judged by the teachers, who appreciated the students’ hard work and innovative ideas. The best three models from each class were selected based on creativity, presentation, and use of materials.
The event provided an excellent platform for students to showcase their artistic and scientific skills, while also spreading awareness about the importance of recycling and environmental conservation.

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (VKV), Longding, celebrated Universal Brotherhood Day on 11th September 2025 with great enthusiasm and reverence, commemorating Swami Vivekananda’s historic address at the World’s Parliament of Religions in Chicago in 1893.

The programme began at 9:45 AM with an invocation prayer and the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, Shri Dingzang Baham, Circle Officer of Longding. The Guest Speaker, Shri Panjam Wangsu ji, SSG member, was guided by the Principal, Sri Samiran Barua. A graceful welcome dance by the students of Class V set the tone for the day.

In his Welcome Address, the Principal emphasised the relevance of Universal Brotherhood Day and the timeless message of Swami Vivekananda. He also highlighted the achievements of the school and took the opportunity to introduce the Patron to the gathering, acknowledging the generous support extended towards karyakartas of Vivekananda Kendra.
This was followed by the felicitation of the Chief Guest and Guest Speaker with tokens of love.
A special highlight of the morning was the release of the school magazine 'Arohi' by the Chief Guest, the Guest Speaker, and the Principal. Arohi reflects the creativity, achievements, and aspirations of VKV students and serves as a platform to showcase their talents.

The Guest Speaker, Shri Phanjam Wangsu, highlighted Swami Vivekananda’s life and mission, and spoke about the lasting impact of his Chicago Address, urging students to draw inspiration from his ideals.

In his Keynote Address, the Chief Guest, Shri Dingwang Baham, recalled his own school days and spoke warmly about the values imparted by VKVs. He reminded the students how fortunate they are to study in an institution that integrates academics with character building, discipline, and cultural values.

A moment of pride for the school came during the Prize Distribution Ceremony, where winners of the Vivek Vaani competition were honoured. Additionally, the school shared the joyous news of a student achieving a Gold Medal and Trophy in a competitive examination conducted by Karkare Academy, Pune.

The programme was graced by the presence of Arun Jyoti members, who added significance to the celebration with their support and goodwill.

The programme concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Banjita Patir, expressing gratitude to the guests, teachers, parents, and students for making the event successful.

The Universal Brotherhood Day celebration at VKV Longding was a memorable occasion that inspired everyone to imbibe the ideals of Swami Vivekananda and strive towards building a harmonious society.
