Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Longding observed World Environment Day on 05.06.2025 in collaboration with Forest Department, Court Judicial and Sports Department with the active participation by the students, teaching as well as non-teaching staff of our Vidyalaya. The program was graced by the Special Guest Sri Dani Takar Ji, (RFO), and the other guest Adv. Konak Wangsu, Adv. Jyoti Toam, Adv. Sunny Pansa and Adv. Tourlong Chama. The program started at 9:30 am with Mangalacharan followed by lighting the lamp by the special guest Sri Dani Takarji. The significance of the day was highlighted by Su. Sumitra Borgohain.  Sri Samiran Barua, principal of the Vidyalaya extended his warm welcome to one and all present on the occasion. 
He highlighted about our Kendra and the achievements of Vidyalaya. He has also highlighted the usefulness of trees in this world. He urged the students to plant more tress. He has also felicitated all the guests. 
During the program four of the Adv. had a session on Fundamental Rights, Environmental Protection, Wild Life Protection and People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
Sri Dani Takarji (RFO) in his key words, spoke on promoting afforestation and discouraging deforestation. He says that the aim behind organizing this program is to give awareness to the people about keeping the environment clean and green. He urged the younger generation especially the students to play active role in this regard. He urged the students to plant more trees and avoid pollution.
He has also donated 180plants to our Vidyalaya. He along with the other departments, the students and all the staffs of VKV Longding participated in plantation drive. Su. Banjita Patir paid a vote of thanks to all the participants in the program. The program concluded with shanti Mantra. Refreshment was distributed to the students as well. 

The school celebrated National Science Day with great enthusiasm. The theme for this year was “AI and Society”, focusing on the role of artificial intelligence in our daily lives.  
The program started with an invocation prayer. Su.Gitashree Bora, teacher, highlighted the significance of the national science day in the inauguration. 
A major highlight of the event was the drama competition, which included four groups: two from class VI and two from class VII. Each group performed creative plays that showed how artificial intelligence affects education, Healthcare, communication, and daily life. They displayed their talent, creativity, teamwork, and understanding of the theme through engaging stories and acting.
After the completion of the event, the principal gave feedback, praising the students’ efforts and participation. He also explained artificial intelligence's utility and adverse effects and how it is changing the world. At last he announced the winning teams and appreciated them for their hard work. The event concluded with peaceful chants of Santihi Mantra. 
The Science Day celebration instigated students to think about the future of AI and its role in improving society. 

VKV Longding celebrated 39th Arunachal Pradesh Statehood Day in the school premises on 19th Feb 2025. The program was conducted during morning assembly. Sri Samiran Barua, principal of the Vidyalaya, wished heartiest greetings to one and all present on this auspicious occasion and also he highlighted the importance of the day. A traditional group dance and patriotic song was performed by the students of class-VI and VII to mark this special day. The school has also conducted a drawing competition for Class-VI & VII students on 19th Feb 2025. All the students and teaching staff attended the program. 
On 20th February 2025, 4 teaching staff and students went to the Longding general ground to attend the statehood day Programme. Programme was grace by Sri Jehai Wangsu, ZPM Longding. Our Class VI & VII Students performed the traditional dance and Class VIII students sang a patriotic song in the Longding general ground.

The vibrant culture, the Oriah festival was celebrated enthusiastically at school on 15/02/2025. The festival is deeply rooted in the traditions of the Wancho tribe of Arunachal Pradesh.  This harvest festival symbolizes unity, oneness, and preservation of traditional customs and expresses gratitude towards nature. 
The school organized a Pre-Oriah celebration with a series of cultural programs, including singing, storytelling, and dance competitions to mark this occasion. 
The celebration began with a traditional invocation. Km. Ngamthai Pansa from class VII highlighted the importance of festivals. As a part of the Oriah festival celebration, various competitions were conducted where students showcased their talents in singing, storytelling,g and dance competitions. Three students from Class VIII were chosen to be judges. They evaluated all the competitions with diligence and respect. 
The singing competition showcased Wancho culture, with students from classes I and II performing traditional Wancho songs. In the storytelling competition, students from Classes III and IV brought folk tales and legends to life with engaging narrations. Students from Classes VI and VII elevated the celebration with a lively and energetic Wancho tribal dance. These competitions made students embrace their cultural heritage while displaying their artistic skills. 

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Longding celebrated Saraswati Puja on 03.02.2025 at the school premises to seek blessings from the Goddess of knowledge Maa Saraswati with the active participation by the students, teaching as well as non-teaching staff of our Vidyalaya. The school initiated the celebration sharply at 9:00 am onwards with three Omkaras followed by Sahanavavatu. Shri Saroj Kumar Sharma, Sanskrit teacher of the vidyalaya highlighted the importance of the day and also conducted puja as per the VKV tradition. There was Saraswati Devi Pujan followed by Saraswati Vandana. Students and teachers also sang bhajans on this auspicious occasion. All the students and staffs offered Pushpanjali to Maa Saraswati. The program came to an end with prizes and certificates distribution ceremony for the various activities and events conducted during the session. Prasad was distributed among them as well. The program was concluded with Shanti Mantra. 

VKV Longding has celebrated 76th Republic Day on the school premises. The program of hosting the National flag started at 7:00 am. Sri Samiran Barua, principal of the Vidyalaya wishes his heartiest greetings to one and all present in the program. He hoisted the national flag and also stated the importance of the day. In his speech, he said that the contribution of every citizen is crucial to achieving our goal and making the nation a Jagat Guru. Republic Day fosters a sense of national pride and inspires citizens to uphold the values enshrined in the Constitution. It also honors the sacrifice made by freedom fighters who envisioned an independent and democratic India. He appealed to all the students to abide by our Fundamental Duties enshrined in the Constitution. These duties are essential obligations of every citizen towards making Bharat a developed nation. 
The students of class VI presented a patriotic song in the program. All the participants sang the national anthem with national spirit. All the students, teaching and non-teaching staff along with the family members attended the program. 
After the school program, a team of March Past and Patriotic Dance groups were taken to General Ground at Longding along with the teachers for the district headquarters Republic Day celebration. A patriotic group dance and March Past team performed actively in the program.  
    

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Longding celebrated Swami Vivekananda Jayanti& Amrit Parivar on 21.01.2025 on the school premises. Chief Guest Shri Wangfyak Wangsu( Sampark Pramukh VK Arunjyoti Tirap Vibhak) and special guests Shri Jakham Loham(Yuva Pramukh), Smt. Phengoi Wangchaham (Sah Sanyojak), Smt. Phesai Wangsa (Samparkh Pramukh), and Smt. Toima Lukham (Karya Paddhati Pramukh) graced the program.  The program started at 10:15 am and by lighting the lamp with an invocation prayer. Sri Samiran Barua, principal of the Vidyalaya extended his warm welcome to one and all present on the occasion. He also highlighted the achievements of the Vidyalaya students. He felicitated the chief guest and all the other special guests with a token of love. 

Following were the cultural programs performed in the celebration:
1.    Welcome song by the students of class VI. 
2.    Traditional Wancho Dance by Class-IV students
3.    Vivek Vani by Km. Ngunom Wangsu a student of Class-IV
4.    Drama of Swami Vivekananda by Class-IV and V students.
5.    Swadesh Mantra by Km. Siranjeev Hajong, a student of class VIII
6.    Hindi Group Dance by class I and II students.
7.    Patriotic song by the students of class V. 
8.    Skit by class-III students.
9.    Hindi Group dance by class-II students.

The significance of the day along with highlighting about Amrit Parivar by Shri Nishi Kant Pathak. 
         Shri Wangfyak Wangsu (Chief guest), appreciated to the students for their wonderful performance in the program. The following points were delivered by him. 

• He felt very pleased to know about the various achievements made by the students in the inter-VKV level as well as other level competitions.
• He congratulated all the winners.
• Service to mankind should be selfless. Oneness is the secret of everything.
• Vivekananda Kendra is a spiritually oriented service organization working with twin ideals of Swami Vivekananda-Man-Making and Nation Building.
• Swami Vivekananda devoted his life to the upliftment of society. We should try to inculcate his teachings in our lives and try to be better human beings and citizens.
• One should not be selfish.
• We should maintain our identity and preserve our culture.
• He advised the students to follow the moral values of Swami Vivekananda.

   Shri Wangfyak Wangsu (Chief Guest) and all the special guests distributed proficiency prizes, Prajnya Vikas Written test prizes and various academic/ cultural competitions prizes held during the session.
   Su. Gitashree Bora, teacher of the Vidyalaya paid a vote of thanks to all the participants in the program. The program concluded with Shanti Mantra.
After that group discussion with some parents about Amrit Parivar.

Samarth Bharat Parva is observed from 25th December to 12th January every year to awaken National Consciousness among the youth focusing on the strengths of our Nation. The inaugural speech was delivered by Sri Samiran Barua, principal of the Vidyalaya in the morning prayer on 26th December. He highlighted briefly about Swamiji`s dream where he meditated on the rock for three days i.e. 25th to 27th December in 1892 for the glorious India. Vande Mataram and Bharat Mata Arati were sung on Samarth Bharat Parva's inauguration day. India map was drawn and diya was lit in front of Bharat Mata. All the students and staff offered flowers on Bharat Mata. Km. Ngoikhaw Wangsa a student of class-VII delivered Swadesh Mantra in the morning assembly. Lastly, an audio (a message from Swami Vivekananda) was played in the assembly where all the students and teachers listened actively.
