World Environment Day Observation at VKV Longding

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Longding observed World Environment Day on 05.06.2025 in collaboration with Forest Department, Court Judicial and Sports Department with the active participation by the students, teaching as well as non-teaching staff of our Vidyalaya. The program was graced by the Special Guest Sri Dani Takar Ji, (RFO), and the other guest Adv. Konak Wangsu, Adv. Jyoti Toam, Adv. Sunny Pansa and Adv. Tourlong Chama. The program started at 9:30 am with Mangalacharan followed by lighting the lamp by the special guest Sri Dani Takarji. The significance of the day was highlighted by Su. Sumitra Borgohain. Sri Samiran Barua, principal of the Vidyalaya extended his warm welcome to one and all present on the occasion.
He highlighted about our Kendra and the achievements of Vidyalaya. He has also highlighted the usefulness of trees in this world. He urged the students to plant more tress. He has also felicitated all the guests.
During the program four of the Adv. had a session on Fundamental Rights, Environmental Protection, Wild Life Protection and People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
Sri Dani Takarji (RFO) in his key words, spoke on promoting afforestation and discouraging deforestation. He says that the aim behind organizing this program is to give awareness to the people about keeping the environment clean and green. He urged the younger generation especially the students to play active role in this regard. He urged the students to plant more trees and avoid pollution.
He has also donated 180plants to our Vidyalaya. He along with the other departments, the students and all the staffs of VKV Longding participated in plantation drive. Su. Banjita Patir paid a vote of thanks to all the participants in the program. The program concluded with shanti Mantra. Refreshment was distributed to the students as well.
