
The vibrant culture, the Oriah festival was celebrated enthusiastically at school on 15/02/2025. The festival is deeply rooted in the traditions of the Wancho tribe of Arunachal Pradesh. This harvest festival symbolizes unity, oneness, and preservation of traditional customs and expresses gratitude towards nature.
The school organized a Pre-Oriah celebration with a series of cultural programs, including singing, storytelling, and dance competitions to mark this occasion.
The celebration began with a traditional invocation. Km. Ngamthai Pansa from class VII highlighted the importance of festivals. As a part of the Oriah festival celebration, various competitions were conducted where students showcased their talents in singing, storytelling,g and dance competitions. Three students from Class VIII were chosen to be judges. They evaluated all the competitions with diligence and respect.
The singing competition showcased Wancho culture, with students from classes I and II performing traditional Wancho songs. In the storytelling competition, students from Classes III and IV brought folk tales and legends to life with engaging narrations. Students from Classes VI and VII elevated the celebration with a lively and energetic Wancho tribal dance. These competitions made students embrace their cultural heritage while displaying their artistic skills.
