VKV Longding celebrated Raksha Bandhan on 09.08.2025. The program was conducted in the assembly hall from 9:00 am onwards. The program began with the lighting of the lamp by the chief guest Shri Deeptodeep Maiti (Commanding Officer 24th Assam Rifles Longding) along with the principal followed by invocation prayer. A warm welcome address was extended by Sri Samiran Barua, principal of the Vidyalaya, to one and all present in the program, followed by a brief speech explaining the significance of Raksha Bandhan. He also felicitated the chief guest. Shri Deeptodeep Maiti, Commanding Officer (24th Assam Rifles Longding), graced the program as the chief guest. Su. Lama Chotton, highlighted the importance of the day. The students of class-IV sang a Sanskrit Geet on the occasion. The students of Class V also sang a patriotic song in the program. After a small cultural program, the Rakhi tieing program begins with the tieing of Rakhi on `OM`, and portrait of Swamiji. All the students tied Rakhi to each other. In a special initiative to promote environmental conservation, the students participated in a “Rakhi for Nature” activity. They tied colorful rakhis to the trees on the school campus, symbolizing their promise to nurture and protect them. Students from the Higher Secondary School Longding also participated in the Raksha Bandhan celebration in our school. They participated wholeheartedly in rakhi tying ceremonies and interacting with younger students creating a warm atmosphere of unity.
As a part of the program, the Wall Magazine, a platform for the students to showcase their creativity, featuring articles, poems, drawings, unsung heroes, and current event updates prepared by the students themselves, was formally inaugurated by the Chief Guest. There were four Wall Magazine Boards in the four different houses. 
The chief guest, Shri Deeptodeep Maiti, appreciated the efforts of the school in organizing the event and encouraged the students to uphold the values of togetherness and mutual respect. He also appreciated the efforts of the young contributors and encouraged them to continue expressing their ideas and talents. 
After the school program, 20 numbers of selected students along with the teaching staff visited to tie Rakhi to 24th Assam Rifles Camp (Longding), the CRPF Camp (Longding & Tissa), and the District Hospital (Longding).
All the students, teaching and non-teaching staff with family members actively participated in the program. Sri Gobin Basnet paid a vote of thanks to all the participants. The program concluded with the Shanti Mantra.
