Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Raga celebrated the festival of Vasant Panchami or Saraswati Puja on 16th Feb, 2021 in a grand way. It was the first celebration of the academic session with the students. All other celebrations were without students. So it was a unique programme on its own way.

We asked the students to report to school at 10 am in their traditional attire. Not only the students, the teaching staff too came wearing their traditional dresses. So it was very colourful to see the school campus buzzing with the sanctity and sacredness of the celebration.

The programme started at 10 am positively. Sri Raju Mishra conducted the Puja while the teaching staff and the children recited the mantras after him. There were five bhajans of Devi sung lead and follow. This made the whole prayer hall devotional. Students of class VIII were asked to keep their books in front of the Puja pedestal. After the bhajans were over, the Principal of the school Sri Trilochan Goutam addressed the gathering with his blessings. He highlighted the importance of the day telling why the day is very special for the students especially. He also explained why we worhip different Gods and Goddesses in our Sanatana culture. The children and the staff listened attentively.

All children were put the Tika and Chandanam. Raksha Sutra was also tied to their wrists. Then the Puja was completed at 11 am. The prasadam was distributed to all. Khhichdi was also prepared and served. It was liked and relished by all, especially the children. The celebration ended at 1 pm with the children leaving the school campus.
