Gita Jayanti and Samarth Bharat Parva were celebrated in our school premises (Prayer Hall) with great pomp and glory on 25th December 2020 at 6.30pm, immediately after evening prayer.  Earthen lamps were illuminated and the portraits of Bharat Mata and Swamiji were arranged on the altar.

At the outset “Vande Mataram”, our National Song, was sung with lead and follow. Then Sri Satya Narayan Pandey, Sanskrit Teacher, spoke on the occasion of Gita Jayanti, its significance and relevance with the great epic, the Mahabharat.

He also spoke on the beginning of the Samartha Bharat Parva highlighting India’s glory in the past, present and the prospect of her glory in the future.

Some Salient points discussed on Gita Jayanti were –

• Gita gives us Vedic wisdom.
• Gita is for all. It represents not only the Vedic Wisdom but also gives a synthesis of thought to resolve all the paradoxes of life.
• Gita should be read daily with reverent contemplation for whole life.
• Gita acts like a mother who takes us in her lap and consoles us when we are grieved and sad.
• Through the study of Gita inner strength can be developed.
• Our purpose of celebrating Gita Jayanti is that the relevance of Gita is understood and explained to the younger generation in this contemporary world.
• In the past few years the celebration of GIta Jayanti has been linked to Kutumba Sammelan as Gita should become the basic book which should be read out and discussed in the family in which the children acquire views and values.
• Gita is the elevating and guiding force in moulding the children.

Some Salient points discussed on Samarth Bharat Parva were –

• December 25th, 26th and 27th – these are the three days when we meditate on Bharat Mata and resolve and rededicate ourselves for nation Building.
• This is time to take the inspiring message of Swami Vivekananda to the youth of India to enhance their self-confidence and also to inspire them to work united to make our country Samartha for guiding the world.
• The need of the hour is to channelize the energy of the youth, to expand their horizons when they are set out to see the boundaries of their achievements.
• Swami Vivekananda felt that the easiest way of doing great work is to come together and work in an organized way.
