- To commemorate the Universal Brother Hood Day on the occasion of the 127th Centenary of the historic Chicago Address delivered by Swami Vivekananda on 11th September-1893 at the World’s Parliament of Religions at Chicago,
- We arranged a programme in three different schools in and around Jairampur Township, as a SAMPARKA ABHIYAN, apart from conducting a grand programme in our own school premises (@ School Prayer hall at 10.30am).
- The Samparka Abhiyan in those schools started a week before in which we interacted with the students and the staff, spoke about the Theme of Ek Bharat- Vijayi Bharat and arranged for conducting Drawing and Painting & Essay Writing competition on Life and messages of Swami Vivekananda.
- The three school where we conducted the Universal Brotherhood Day celebration programmes were:
- Secondary School, KOVIN, where about 149 students from Classes VI to X were present. The In-charges were – Shri P.C.Dey, & Shri B. Mili.
- Primary School, KOVIN, where about 95 students were present. The Inc-harges were Sri Amit Kumar & Sri Shankarsan Mahapatra.
- Middle school, Lalpur, where about 85 students & Staff were present . The In charges were Sri Sri Sudip Paroi, Sri Satya Narayan Pandey & Sri Harinath Pandey.
- In all the three school our programmes were followed with a common agenda of Samparka wherein the significance of the occasion ( Swami Vivekananda’s Historic Chicago Address, “Ek Bharat, Vijayi Bharat” and 50 Years Celebration of the Vivekananda Rock Memorial were elaborately portrayed and conveyed, followed by the miniature Chicago Address by the students of our school, and then screening & elaborately explaining the Power point Presentation on the theme of “Ek Bharat, Vijayi Bharat”, sent by VKVAPT.
- At last prizes were given away to the winning participants. The significance or the occasion of the prize giving ceremony was that we conducted Drawing and Painting & Essay Writing Competitions in those schools a week before and prizes were arranged for the same to be awarded today
- In our school Premises the Universal Brotherhood Day celebration was a unique one. About 60 parents of the Hostellers and day scholar and about 60 student- participants were present on this auspicious occasion.
- The Chief Guest on the Occasion was Er. KAGO SALO, Executive Engineer, HIGHWAYS,
- The Programme began with Lighting the Lamp and Invocation.
- Shri T. Sritharan, Principal VKV , Jairampur, welcomed & felicitated Hon’ble Chief Guest.
- Master Kaling Tali, a student of Class VII of our school delivered the Swami Vivekananda’s Historic Chicago Speech.
- Power point Presentation of Ek Bharat Vijayi Bharat was screened and elaborately explained by Smt. Bindu Nair, In- Charge of Primary, VKV Jairampur
- Sri T. Sritharan, Principal, VKV Jairampur, , spoke on the Significance of Universal Brotherhood Day.
- Hon’ble Chief Guest Addressed gathering. In his keynote address he appreciated the standard of the students in their performance like speech and Cultural programmes. He also praised the teaching faculty for taking initiation in giving better education to these children. Lastly he wished all success of this school in near future.
- The audience was entertained with colorful cultural programmes on the theme of National Integration & Patriotism by the Students.
- Refreshment was served to all.
- The Programme ended with ‘Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinaha’
