1. Focus of the Event:

• To popularise the doctrine of The Bhagavat Gita
• Gita as  a manual of life
• To let the students learn to live a life spiritually meaningful
• Gita as a elixir of life

2. Welcome Address: By Panchanan Tripathy, Principal

• Formally welcomed the gathering
• Bhagavat Gita is an ancient Indian Text  means the song of the lord
• It deals with Indian intellectual and spiritual tradition having 18 chapters
• Rishi Vyasa is said to be the person behind the compilation chapters of Gita
• Gita Jayanti is the celebration of the discourse of The Bhagavat Gita
• Gita teaches the lesson of humanity, leadership and other qualities that can lead a human being a successful, happy and focussed life.
• Gita provides humans with wisdom to solve the toughest problem of life.
• Bhagavat Gita was Swami Vivekananda’s lifelong companion

3. Significance of the day: Mrs Shefali  Bharadwaj, Teacher

• Gita Jayanti is a celebration of the gift of Bhagavat Gita
• It is the birthday of the Bhagavat Gita
• It is the holiest of all the scriptures of Hinduism
• Gita is a central treatise of the expansive epic, The Mahabharata
• It has 18 chapters and 700 hymns in the form of discourse  
• The discourse of Gita took place just before the start of Kurushetra war
• The teachings of Gita are universal by nature
• Gita gives the message of solace, peace, freedom, salvation and perfection of all human beings
• The four Yogas are well expounded in Gita

The celebration also witnessed chanting of chapter 17 of The Bhagavat Gita by all students and teachers followed by a small quiz competition on Bhagavat Gita.

4. Vote of Thanks: It was extended by Smt. Binghu Nair.  She urged one and all to read Bhagavat Gita daily. If we understand the values of Bhagavat Gita in true sense, many of our day to day problems will get reduced and we can lead a blissful life
