VKV Jairampur celebrated International Yoga Day on 21st  June 2016 with an axiom to integrate the house, families, society, nations and Mother Nature in the benign presence of the local populace, students, leaders, govt. employees and all. Addressing the huge gathering of around 500 participants, Principal, Sri Panchanan Tripathy, ameliorated that Yoga is the very basis of bringing peace, harmony, happiness and success to every soul in the world; it is a mental, physical and spiritual practice need to be carried out every day. It is the ancient tradition given to the world by India. It is not about the exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with ourselves, the world and nature. By bringing a change in our life-styles and creating consciousness, we can even help ourselves to deal with the issues related to climate change.

Sri Tusham Longri, ZPM Jairampur, was the Chief Guest of the occasion. He put forward to the participants to adopt yoga and practice it regularly for better health and life. He propelled the youngsters how Yoga embodies unity of mind and body, thought and action, restraint and fulfilment, harmony between men and nature and a holistic approach to good health and well being.

To mark the importance of the day there was a demonstration cum practice session taken by Sri Sunil B Dhabral, the PT teacher of our Vidyalaya. There were guided asanas & pranayam practices were conducted wherein all the participants were found very robust and enthusiastic.

While extending the vote of thanks to the gathering, Sri Kento Riba, the Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Jairampur very placidly stressed on doing yoga as a traditional practice, not a religious penance; doing regular yoga would smoulder a holistic change in the body, mind and intellect, he said.
