The aim of India International Science Festival(IISF) is to engage public with science and celebrate the joy of science and show the ways how Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics(STEM) provide us with the solutions to improve our lives. Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Earth Sciences and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in association with Vijnana Bharathi( VIBHA), has created a unique platform of IISF which intends to inspire curiosity and make learning more rewarding. There were 28 various events held from 5 - 8 November- 2019 in six different Venues. In which” National Science Teacher Congress – 2019” was also one among them. which was held in Biswabangla Convention Centre Kolkata. The registration started from 5 th November.

Inauguration of IISF-2019 By Honorable Prime Minister of India through Video Conference.

Date: 07.11.2019:
10.00 am. Inauguration of NSTC-2019 by Dr. Vijay Bhatkar , President VIBHA( who made Param Computer)
11.00 – 12.45 - Plenary Talk by Prof. Gautam R Desiraju, IISc,Bangalore, Spoke about the “ Current challenges in the education sector in India: The continuing relevance of Swami Vivekananda and Sarvapalli Radhakrisnan”.
2.00 pm – 3.00 pm : Shri. Unnat Pandit, Niti Ayog, New Delhi spoke about the “ Experimental Learning at Various level of Education System”.
3.00 – 4.30 pm : Shri. Biswajit Saha, Director( Skill Education& Training) CBSE spoke about the importance of skill education and how CBSE is planning to bring it in to the curriculum in future.
4.30 – 5.45 pm : Demonstrations by :
1. Miss : Shivani Pethe, IUCAA PUNE – on Wonderlab, she gave emphasize on learning through fun for primary level children
2. Shri. Shasikant Naik, HM Goa : on Mathlab, he has shown some of teaching aids prepared by him for teaching mathematic concepts.
3. Shri. Ashok Kumar Roy. Teacher: on conservation of Eco system.

9.00 - 9.45 am : Open Discussion & Interaction by Dr. Prosenjit Sen(IACS, Kolkata) and Sh. RP singh (CBSE, New Delhi)
10.00 am - Address By : Hon’ble Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan. Ministry of Science & Technology, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India.
10.30 – 11.20 am : by Prof. Sangeeta Gadhok Magan, NDIM, New Delhi spoke about “ Enhancing the teaching Learning Process”.
11.30- 1.15 pm : by Prof. B.N. Jagatap. Dept. of Physics, IIT Mumbai on “ Indian Contributions to Chemical Sciences”
All the above sessions made us to think more scientifically and plan to build new experiments with more innovative ideas.
There was an exposure to the hand on demonstration to enlighten new teaching methodology. It was an unforgettable learning experience.
