VKV Nirjuli celebrated National Youth Day on 12th January 2016 to mark the 153rd Birth Anniversary of the great patriotic monk, social reformer and world teacher Swami Vivekananda who envisaged the regeneration of modern India through the renunciation of the youths to the service of the downtrodden in particular and mankind in general. There were 650 students participated in the celebration.

A mega procession , which was flagged off by Sri P.M. Unnikrishnan, Education Officer , VKVs APT, to mark the celebration reverberated the atmosphere was undertaken. This day also marked the culmination of Samarth Bharat Parva to recount the resplendent achievements of India. A film on the life and ideals of Swami Vivekananda was also screened to the students.

Addressing the students, Sri Unnikrishnanji exhorted the students to eternalize and materialize the vision and mission of Swami Vivekananda.

The grandeur of the celebration was augmented by the gracious presence of Sri Taw Tebin, Director, Social Justice, Empowerment and Tribal Affairs, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, as Chief Guest. Addressing the august gathering, Principal Sri Panchanan Tripathy, reiterated the past glories of mother India and urged the sylvan VKVians to be instrumental in creating the same under the tutelage of Swami Vivekananda, the pristine mark of VKVs.

Speaking on the occasion, Sri Tebin poned the students to develop the attitude of sacrifice and service for the development of mankind.

Speaking on the significance of the celebration Sri Gyaneshwar Mishra, teacher, VKV Nirjuli, expatiated on the life and messages of Swami Vivekananda.

The patriotic song presented by the students filled everybody’s mind and heart with high-spirited fervor.
