A Science, Art and Craft Exhibition was organised by Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya-Yingkiong on 3rd December 2021for classes 1 to 9thon the theme of Science,Technology and Innovations. It was a one-day affair which is held every year. The objective to have a science exhibition is to encourage and inculcate a scientific temperament among students. This exhibition was inaugurated by the SP of Upper Siang District Sh. Jumar Basar. He shared his opinions on the thoughtful ideas and presentations given by the students in the exhibition and also spoke some words on the importance of arts and crafts in the life of any individual. He said that one could share his/her own views through arts rather than any writing or painting or drawings. This kind of exhibition should be organised at very large scale in schools and colleges. He personally interacted with each group, gave them positive feedback and motivated them to do better. The entire event was held in the school campus itself. It commenced at 10 AM. and got over by 1 PM. Invitation cards were sent to all the parents and guardians. With an endeavour to promote scientific attitude among the young students, this exhibition was one of its kind. The students of std. VI-IX
showcased their scientific skills and creative thinking through self-designed working models and projects that were useful and sustainable in protecting health and environment. They made projects on concepts such as - how aerators can be used to conserve water, how soil can be kept fertile, how fruit residues can promote fertility, citrus fruits as good electrical conductors, designing of a hovercraft, etc. The demonstrations and explanations given by the participants impressed all the spectators. They decorated and reorganised their classes all on their own. They were asked to choose their favourite sub-topic from the list shared earlier and create something to explain it. They made still models, colourful charts, posters, working models, and so on. On the other hand, the tiny tots of VKV Yingkiong poured out their creativity and talent at the Art Exhibition. Children of grade 1 to 5 participated in the Art Exhibition that brought out the latent skills of the children. The students also gave a beautiful and detailed explanation of their models to all the guests. They were even questioned about the scientific concepts and theories behind their project. Various sustainable topics and ideas were picked up and demonstrated visually. Be it the working of a windmill, a solar plant or the hydropower plant. All of them showcased their best talent and abilities both verbally and mentally. One photographer was assigned for photography and videography. All the guests praised the efforts of the students and congratulated them for putting their best foot forward. Sh. Jumar Basar in his interaction with some media house highlighted the hard work behind the success of the exhibition and how he thinks that the future of the kids will be brightened and he also applauded the students for their innovative and noble ideas and emphasized that Science has always been the solution to all problems and it will remain as a tool for us to achieve the Indian dream of leading the world as a superpower. He hailed the confidence and asked the students to keep up the good work.
Surely the ceremony by organizing an exhibition proved very beneficial for both technical and art world and these opportunities for creative ideas will always help in the development of the nation.
