VKV Yingkiong Celebrated the Azadi -70, Yaad Karo Kurbani,(Independence Day- 2016) in befitting manner. All the teachers as well as the students reported to school at 5.00 Am. The programme started with the prabhat Ferry from the school round the Yingkiong Township. The school flag hoisting was done at 6.30 Am by the Principal Shri-M.K.Sarkar, followed by singing of national Anthem, Importance of the Day and the singing of patriotic song by the Children.

After the completion of the school programme the students were taken to the General ground Yingkiong for the March-past and the cultural programme. The school had participated in four important events- 1.Marchpast 2.Mock Drill on Earthquake 3.Band Display 4.Adi Cultural Dance.

The school begged the first prize in March-past defeating about 20 March-past contingents from various schools of Yingkiong. The Mock Drill on Earthquake was a wonderful awareness programme which was appreciated by one and all presence in the Programme. To make the programme successful the school has constituted the School Disaster Management Committee under the Chairmanship of the principal of the school.

The children of Class-IV and V Performed the Adi patriotic cultural dance which appealed the vary intact of Adi culture and tradition. The another attraction of the programme was Band Troop of VKV, Yingkiong which had echoed the whole Yingkiong Valley.
