Janmastami, is also called Shri Krishna janmastami  which is celebrated to mark the birth of Lord Krishna. Lord Krishna is believed to be the eighth incarnation (avatar) of Lord Vishnu. Devotees observe the 1st on this day as gesture of devotion, while many others indulge in the festivities by organising cultural programmes and puja ritual at home.

On 11 August 2020, Shri Krishna Janmastami was celebrated by all teachers of VKV Tezu. We celebrated the day by conducting puja in our school. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation students were not able to participate directly, so we sent greeting cards and recorded speech of the importance of the day to the students in the whatsApp group. Smt. Rupali Bhattacharjee didi delivered the message of Lord Krishana and His purpose of taking birth on the earth. Moreover we conducted Radha Krishna getup competition for the students of class I to VII. They celebrated the day and clicked photos and sent through whatsApp. There was also speech programme for the students of Class VIII to X.
