Indian across the nation was commemorating India’s independence from British rule by celebrating its 74th Independence Day on August 15, 2020. Independence Day is to remember our valiant freedom fighters who stood up against the colonisers and even suffered harsh consequences unflinchingly, so that the later generations could breathe in free air. Slaving for 200 years and claiming back our country makes us marvel at the great leaders.   

The day was started with the feeling of patriotism, though our students were not able to present in the school, we the teachers and other staff members along with sisters and brothers from Arunjyoti celebrated 74th Independence Day. Sri Ashok ji, Vibhag Sangathak (Lohit Vibhag, AJ) was invited as the Chief Guest to grace the occasion. Calibration with patriotic song was sung by Smt. Jalimsi Didi and followed by others. At 7.30 am the national flag was hoisted along with national anthem.  Sri Ashokji, in his deliberation, gave us the true meaning of independence in today’s context. In his speech he also talked about “Atmanirbhar Bharat” for our true independence. Sri Suresh Kr Behera, the Principal of the school delivered a short speech highlighting the importance of the day. Finally the celebration was ended with the slogan of “Bharat Mata ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram”

In addition to this, students joined us from home. They celebrated the day with their family and clicked Selfie with their family and also made videos of singing of national Anthem which they shared us in the whatsApp group. Students of secondary level were asked to send their recorded speech as the part of their celebration.
