VKV Tezu conducted this years’ Matri Puja for the outgoing students of Class-X in the school prayer hall on 12th February 2020 at 10:00 am with an objective of enhancing the bond between mother and child.

At the outset, the students washed the feet of their mothers with water in a holistic way in front of their prayer hall. The Principal of the school, Sri Suresh Kr Behera extended a hearty welcome to the parents of about 29 students of Class-X (both mother and father), well-wishers and teachers. On this auspicious occasion, Sri P.K. Pandey, ClC (Lohit) and Guest Speaker Smt. Sailu Bellai, Former Principal of VKV Tezu highlighted the importance of Matri Puja, emphasizing the emotional bonding between mother and child and the journey of mother in up-bringing of their child right from her womb to the present day. She portrayed Mother as the real God quoting ‘’Matri Devo Bhava’’ and how their blessings will have a positive impact in their life, which will help them to choose right path in their life. Sri P.K. Pandey, spoke to the students and parents about the significance of this unique puja. In his speech he explained the role and journey of mother, followed by the instructions for beginning of Matri Puja. The complete puja was conducted as per the guidelines. The whole puja was performed from the inner-core of their heart.

As a part of the programme, parents and students were allowed to share their experience in a feedback session, where a mother mentioned that she was highly influenced by the  way this unique puja was performed, in turn become emotional that for the first time her child touched her feet. She wished all the students best of luck for their forthcoming Board examination.

Another mother expressed her happiness highlighting them lucky enough to be a part of VKV family and elated to see the sanskar of VKVs and thanked all the teachers and School for giving a platform to the students so that they can explore themselves through the all-round development of the students. One of the parents called up on the students to inculcate the values that imbibed from VKV and teaching of Swamiji in their life. The students became emotional and shared their inner feelings for their mother.

Sri S. R. Chowdhury (Class Teacher of Class X) also addressed them and extended wishes for the forthcoming CBSE Board Examination. The programme concluded with the best wishes from Parents and teachers followed by Shanti Mantra
