To commemorate the birthday of Swami Vivekananda, maker of Modern India, National Youth Day is celebrated at VKV Tezu with great joy, enthusiasm on 12th January with the primary aim of sensitizing the students, parents & guests about the philosophies, principles and ideas of Swami Vivekananda and Vivekananda Kendra which works on it.

The Principal welcomed the gathering and threw light upon the achievement of the students in academics and non academics during the session and appealed all the parents and public to continue their support for the growth school.

Sri Uttam Kr Patel, a teacher of the school delivered a speech on the occasion. Swamiji’s birth, childhood days and miraculous incidents, His meeting with Sri Ramkrishna, worshipping Maa  Kali for blessings, paribrajak day, meditation on rock for the mission of His life, participation in the World Parliament of Religion and His love for Bharat Mata, celebration of birth centenary of Swami Vivekananda and erection of Rock Memorial, Entry of Man. Eknathji Ranade and his efforts in uniting people to overcome obstacles for the construction of Memorial, foundation of Vivekananda Kendra- a living memorial, inception of VKVs in Arunachal Pradesh and eventually the 50 years of celebration of Vivekananda Rock Memorial on the theme Ek Bharat Vijaee Bharat and Maha Sampark Karyakarma were the subject s he covered in his speech.

Colonel K S Panigrahy, Commandant, 634 Sata Battery (Indian Army), Shivaji Nagar, Tezu graced the occasion as Chief Guest. On his maiden speech, he expressed his overwhelming experience being the part of this celebration and requested everyone to imbibe the spiritual knowledge given by Swami Vivekananda. One has to be spiritual in his working place and dutiful and doing his work sincerely is his spirituality. An army man has to protect his country, a teacher’s duty is to teach the students and a student’s to read and study. He appreciated the well functioning of the school and the achievement of the students and the school is a platform to showcase the students’ immense talents. At length prizes for proficiency winners were given away by the Chief Guest.

Kids and students performed streaks of cultural events: action rhymes, action songs, talent show, Kheyals (solo classical songs), patriotic group songs, traditional local group dance-Mishmi and Galo, Skits on social message and incident of Swami Vivekananda’s Life & patriotic group dance which were acclaimed by the onlookers.
