The Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas organizes various programmes for the all-round development of the children. Among these one of the most important programme is Sadgamaya Shibir meant for Class-VII, Dayscholars of VKV – Kharsang, government schools, and other private schools.

VKV-Kharsang organized a 3 days residential camp from 24th Oct to 26th Oct 2018. The total numbers of camp participants were 36 from various schools of Miao sub-division.

On the first day students reported in school at 2 p.m. and the registration was done from 2 p.m to 3:00 p.m. After making all the self cleaning all the participants they reported in the prayer hall at 3.30 pm. Then, the Shibir Coordinator, Sri Putul Dutta briefed the aims and objectives of the camp to the participants. After this there was an Ice-breaking session, where participants introduced themselves and groups were formed.

At 3.40 p.m., the inaugural programme was conducted and it presided by Shri B.B.Gupta , CRC of Kharsang as a Chief Guest. He has the initiatives of VKVs for moulding the students of government schools.

“Never give up.” It’s probably one of the most cliché phrases we all hear when we’re building our career. We know believing that is easier said than done, Smt. Meera Gohain Saikia collected some incidents of famous personalities who inspired us, including Swami Vivekananda, Sarah Jessica Parker, Eknath ji, Gandhi Ji, and etc., this dynamic session was followed by Bhajan Sandhya. The prayer session was started at 6 pm with three Om-karas followed by Om- bhadrangKarnevi, 3 Bhajans and Kendra prayer.

Prayer isn’t just closing your eyes, folding your hands and speaking. Prayer is a much more meaningful part of religion. Prayer is defined as an act of God, a god or another object of worship, such as devotion, confession, praise or thanksgiving. The prayer that we pray should the one that comes straight from our hearts. To acquaint with the objectives of a prayer Shri Dibakar Luitel elaborately discussed about its importance in the second session of Day 1 from 6.45 p.m. to 7.45 p.m.

It was followed by Supper at 7:50 pm, after supper students re-assembled in the hall for Story Telling session and the story was narrated by Smti Ruprekha Dutta then Ananda mela was conducted by Shri A.K.Sahoo. It was followed by re-capsulation of whole day activities and then they all departed to their respective hostels.

Day 2 of the camp was started with Pratasmaran at 5:30 a.m., followed by Yoga and pranayama session. The benefit of the yoga and pranayama was narrated by Shri Ranjan Kr. Choudhury.
Just after the breakfast participants assembled in the hall for the first session of Day 2. This session was taken by Smt. Mamta Singh on Vedic mathematics. It was discovered by Indian mathematician Jagadguru Shri Bharati Krishna Tirthaji in the period between A.D 1911 and 1918. In that session participants learn that, using regular mathematical steps because solving problems are complex and time consuming. But using Vedic mathematics techniques numerical problems and calculations can be done very fast.

The next session was about India’s Contribution to the World taken by Smt. Pinki Biju, where participants came to know the facts of such as- Indian mathematician who invented the Number system, Zero was invented by Aryabhatta, World’s first university was established in Takshila in 700 B.C and more than 10,500 students from all over the world studied more than 60 subjects, Sanskrit is the mother of all the European languages, Ayurveda is the earliest school of medicine known to us and etc.

The next session was on Personality Development. In this session participants came to know about the definition of personality development, characteristics of different types of personalities and Swami Vivekananda’s concept of Personality Development. This session was taken by Su. Aradhana Saikia.

The Manthan on topic : Characteristics of a Healthy Personality was taken by Shri. A.Kr. Sahoo.

In the next session of the day was taken by Shri Shyamal Chakraborty, on The life and messages of Swami Vivekananda.

Followed by this session after lunch break there was a Geet practice session guided by Smti Mamta Singh.

Next session of the day started at 3:15 p.m., was on How to be an organized student ? and to acquainted the participants with the characteristics of an organized students Shri Rajib Saikia with support of PPT presentation and after this session students were became eager to know more and the session continued upto 4:10 p.m.

Evening games session period was started at 4:20 pm where the participants learned new traditional games and enjoyed. The regular evening prayer was being conducted at 6 p.m., followed by house wise Manthan on the topic of Our role as a promising Youth of this Nation led by Shri Rupak Paul and concluded by Shri Shyamal Chakraborty. It was followed by Supper at 7:50 pm, after supper students re-assembled in the hall for Story Telling session and the story was narrated by Smti Ruprekha Dutta then Ananda mela was conducted by Shri Putul Dutta. It was followed by re-capsulation of whole day activities and then they all departed to their respective hostels.

Day 3 (26.10.2018) was started by morning prayer at 5.30 a.m., led by prayer-in-charge Shri S.K. Dubey and it was followed by yoga and pranayama session.

After breakfast and Shramadan, the first session of the day started on the topic Vivekananda Kendra and its activities. This session was taken by Shri. S.K. Dubey.

The valedictory function was started at 10 am. Shri. N. Tangha, Chairman of SSG-VKV-Kharsang and BJP – President of Changlang district has arrived as chief guest of the valedictory programme.

The three days residential Sadgamaya Shibir report was presented by Sri Sujit Dey. The best camp participants and the winners diary competition were awarded by Shri. N. Tangha.

Shri. N. Tangha ji was thankful to VKV Kharsang for organizing such camp and also made the students to understand the importance of personality development in his words. The programme was concluded with vote of thanks and shanti mantra.
