On 6th September 2015, the Janmasthami is celebrated by conducting the puja at 6.45 a.m. The puja is conducted by Shri Rajeev Prasad Dubey as per the Hindu mythology. A total of 152 students and teachers attended the programme followed by tying of raksha sutra to the students and staff members.

At 9 a.m., all the staff and students of the campus gathered at the school playground for the earthen pot breaking competition. The competition was successful because many outsiders also witnessed the programme. In this competition, all the four houses participated with full enthusiasm. The dhol was played by the teachers to motivate the students. The Himalaya House has won the competition by breaking the pot in just 8 seconds!

After this all, the hostellers were busy in Hostel-wise Temple making competition. Each and every student with their teachers were busy in finding out the most innovative and attractive ideas of making a temple in their respective hostels. It was a unique experience for the students of VKV Kharsang because it was not a part of their Janmasthami programme for long years.

At 6.30 p.m., all staff and family members visited the hostel temples, starting from elder students to younger ones. Each of the four hostels sang two bhajans and lighted the agarbatti in front of the Lord Krishna’s portrait followed by offering of flowers. The same is continued in all the four hostels and it all came to an end at 8.20 p.m. Some of boys dressed themselves in Krishna and Radha to make their hostel’s performance attractive.

The Sunday holiday is enjoyed by everyone in the name of Lord Krishna.
