22nd August 2021: On this auspicious day of Shravan Purnima the festival of Rakshabandhan was celebrated in Ekalavya Model Residential School, Bana. Also the Punyatithi of Maneenya Ekhnath Ranade ji and Sanskrit Diwas  was observed simultaneously.
A small program was arranged to celebrate and understand the true essence of this festival and the sacred relationship of a brother and a sister. 
The program started with three Omkaara followed by Sahanabhavatu. Sri. R. Krishnamoorty, Principal  In Charge. Lit the traditional oil lamp to mark the beginning of the program. He offered flowers and Rakhi to the portrait of Ekanathji and swamiji.
The in charge for today's program was Sri Rakesh Petkar. Sri. Narayan Sarkar delivered the speech and highlighted the importance of the day in various aspects. In his speech he beautifully explained the meaning of the tradition of tying a holy thread 'Rakhi' around the wrist of brothers by the sisters. He further added that this tradition symbolizes Raksha which means protection and Bandhan which means bond. Thus Rakshabandhan is a bond of protection given by a brother to his sister. He also paid homage to the great soul of Bharat Mata through his speech. He further laid emphasis on sanskrit diwas. He added that sanskrit is the oldest and the most holy language among all the known languages of the world.
After his speech all the staff tied Rakhi to each other with great zeal and enthusiasm. 
Today's program conveyed the message of purity, unmatched bond of love, care and respect between siblings.
