On the auspicious morning of 26th January 2020, our school Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Joram celebrated 71st Republic Day in the school premises. It was the matter of great pride for all of us. The principal, teachers and the students didn’t want to leave any stone unturned in making this monumental day a memorable one. To make the program a remarkable one, 10 teaching staffs, 2 non – teaching staffs and 173 students were present in the function.

The students from different hostels as well as all the day scholar students gathered in the school campus at 6:30 a.m. After that all the students were divided into two groups in two lines for Prabhat Feri with a set of effective patriotic slogans in the hands of the students written on the cardboard. The Prabhat Feri was started from the school premises to the Joram Tin-Ali Centre and returned back to the origin. After coming back everybody stood straight for National Anthem sung by the teachers and the students. Then the Principal of the school, Sri Ashok Singh delivered a brief valuable speech on the significance of the day. After this, students presented cultural items.

These cultural items included patriotic songs, folk dances and speeches. The students of grade VIII (8) to class I performed their class song in a melodious voice. After this the students of grade IV (4) performed the Lezim dance under the guidance of Sri Probhat Newar, the PT teacher of the school. Then, the students of grade II to V performed  beautiful folk dance.  The cultural programs were judged by a couple of teachers, Sri Ashok Singh and Sri Dharmeswar Tanti. Then the function ended with the distribution of chocolates among the students.

Despite weather being inclement, all the teachers as well as the students enjoyed 71st Republic Day with great enthusiasm.
