On World Environment Day 2025, VKV Joram observed a series of activities promoting awareness and action towards environmental conservation. The celebration began with a special morning assembly where Shri. Manoj Kumar Mahato, teacher and ecological enthusiast, delivered an inspiring speech. His words highlighted the urgent need to protect nature, the significance of afforestation, and the role students can play in preserving the environment. The speech left a deep impact on all present and set the tone for the day.
Following the assembly, a plantation drive was conducted within the school premises. Students from Classes VII and VIII enthusiastically participated and planted 30 saplings, including fruit-bearing trees and flowering plants. The saplings were generously provided by the Forest Ranger, Yachuli, of Keyi Panyor District, Arunachal Pradesh, for which the school expressed deep gratitude. This initiative aimed at enhancing the green environment of the campus and teaching students the significance of nurturing nature. The drive aimed at increasing green cover and instilling a sense of responsibility among students.
In the next significant activity, students from Classes V to VIII, comprising 57 boys and 75 girls, took part in a community cleaning drive at Joram-73 Market. Under the guidance of teacher Shri Manoj Kumar Mahato, Shri. Takpi Game, Shri. Dasarath Sarkar, Shri. Kennedy Rina, and Smti. Mamta Rai, the students cleaned public areas, collected litter, and arranged waste systematically. The overall in-charge of this entire market cleaning drive was Shri. Manoj Kumar Mahato who ensured discipline and effective coordination throughout the activity.
The market community greatly appreciated the efforts. Locals praised the students’ dedication, and refreshments were generously provided by the community members. Their positive remarks and words of encouragement added to the morale of the students and staff, making the event even more meaningful.
Simultaneously, students from Classes I to IV were engaged in a live telecast session of "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0", an initiative led by the Hon’ble Education Minister, Shri. Dharmendra Pradhan. The session was shown from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm by Shri. Sujit Dey sir, where the young minds attentively watched and absorbed the importance of tree plantation and environmental care.
