This year National Youth Day, the birthday of Swami Vivekananda was celebrated in Longding. It was organised collectively  by VKV Alumni Longding dist, Arunjyoti Longding , VKV Niausa and VKV Senua.

The programme started with mass procession  where a large number of well wishers , alumni members,  parents along with students of VKV Niausa and Senua joined . They were carrying placards , shouting slogans and singing patriotic songs .

The rhythemic  beats of  VKV Niausa band enthralled the general public in the procession . The procession passed through Longding market and ended at Tinpong Wangham's  Badminton Hall.
After the procession the function started at Tinpong Wangham's Badminton Hall.

Smt. Chesta Yadav IAS , DC Longding was the chief guest and Sri Bharat Reddy IPS, SP Longding was the guest of honour. Sri P. Ajay Kumar CIC Tirap, Sri Ashis Chatterjee Principal VKV Niausa and Sri K. Dineshan Principal VKV Senua also witnessed the programme.

"We are fortunate to have two VKV's in our district and hope that our students will be getting best education there" expressed by Smt. Chesta Yadav DC Longding. Sri Bharat Reddy SP Longding appealed all to know more about Swami Vivekananda " We all should work hard" .

Sri C . Wangsu Nagar Pramukh VKAJ narrated on importance of the Day. Sri Ashis Chatterjee Principal VKV Niausa gave welcome address and highlighted on life and message of Swami Vivekananda while Sri K. Dineshan gave vote of thanks.

It was followed by cultural programme where students of VKV Senua & Niausa showcased cultural items .

VKV alumni dist. Longding  arranged light refreshment and vehicle to lift students from both the VKV's.
