Annual Sports Meet was conducted in VKV Jirdin from 22nd to 24th November,2018. On 22nd November,2018 in the inaugural programme which started at 9.00 a.m. with lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest Sri. MargamKarbak (Games & Sports Co-ordinator, West Siang dist.). Principal, VKV Jirdin welcomed the Chief Guest and all the students to the school Annual Sports Meet. Sri. Dhanaji T.B (Physical Instructor & Games and Sports In- Charge) spoke on the significance enlightening the students the importance of games and sports in our life. Next hoisting of the sports flag and lighting of the Olympic torch was done by the Chief Guest. Principal VKV Jirdin felicitated the Chief Guest with a floral Assamese gamucha.

The Chief Guest in his speech spoke about the changing time where many individuals excel and opt for different kinds of sports and are changing the current scenario. He also appreciated how students of this school have been performing well in Taekwondo and bringing laurels to the school and the district. He also thanked the parents who are giving their support to their children by allowing them to take part in different fields of games and sports. And gave away some of the meritorious prizes to the student who brought name and fame to the institution in the State Level Science Exhibition in Itanagar on 19th Nov, 2018, by securing the ninth position among the top ten students and to the student going to represent the district in the National level for Inspire- Manak Awards going to be held in Pune in the next month.

Class-X did band display, primary classes did PT display and march past was done by all the houses.

The Annual Sports Day was opened with 100 metres race for the seniors

In those three day’s various sports for sub-juniors, juniors and seniors were conducted. Students both day scholars and hostellers got ample opportunity to display their sportsmanship and experienced various games and sports. Besides in the evening three nights house-wise cultural competition  such as regional dance, modern dance, fancy dress, advertisement & drama competition were kept. Children participated gaily and cheerfully in frolic. On 25th November, Annual Sports was winded up with marathon race for students from class-III to X.
