On 26th August,2018 Raksha Bandhan was celebrated in VKV Jirdin with Smt. Sangeeta Prasad (Post master, Aalo) as the Chief Guest and three Gaon buras (land donors) of Jirdin village. The short programme started at 9.30 a.m. with lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest and Gaon buras. A  patriotic song “Nav Chaitanya Hilore Leta……..”

Principal, VKV Jirdin welcomed the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour  for the day. He wished the students a very Happy Raksha Bandhan Day to all. And spoke a few lines throwing light on its significance -Why all over India, Indians celebrate Raksha Bandhan and the sacred bonding of brothers and sisters and the vow taken by brothers to defend the sisters all throughout life. He gave beautiful anecdotes of history of Queen Karmawati of Chittor and Mughal Emperor Humayun signifying the tradition of tying Rakhi, and turned leaves of Mahabharatha sharing the holy relation shared by Lord Shree Krishna and Panchali Putri Draupadi.

The programme was followed by symbolic Rakhi tying to  Swamiji’s portrait by the Chief Guest and to the Chief Guest by the students. Students also merrily tied rachis to the teachers and their class mates and senior students.
Two dramas were performed by the hosteller students highlighting the divine knot of brothers and sisters, leaving a deep impact on every brother and sister present in the hall, away from home.
Next, the Chief Guest spoke on the beautiful celebration organized by the school, admiring the students’ performance and expressing her gratitude towards school for bestowing the opportunity to be a part of it. The Gaon buras turn wise spoke in their local dialect narrating how VKV Jirdin came into being. And advised all students folk to utilize the opportunity of studying here and becoming someone great in the future. Vote of thanks was presented by Sri. Dhanaji T.B , who thanked all the dignitaries present there and the students. The celebration was successful in building a strong relation among all present there bringing everyone closer and was concluded with shanti mantra.


RAKSHA BANDHAN CELEBRATION IN ARMY, AALO & RAMAKRISHNA MISSION SCHOOL, AALO


On 26th August on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, around 8.30 a.m. students of class V went along with three teaching staffs to Aalo , to tie rakhis to the jawans of Army, Aalo. Following the rituals individually students tied to the jawans applying tika , tying rakhi on the wrist and offering laddu to them.

Besides students of class VI went to Ramakrishna Mission School, Aalo escorted with four teaching staffs, to tie rakhi to the hosteller students of the school. After the tying of rakhis to the students there, our teachers and students attended the evening prayer and chanted prayer in the prayer hall, with the Swami jis’ of Ramakrishna Mission school. In addition, students gained a lot today by today’s experience & exposure and from the holistic environment there.
