Universal Brotherhood Day celebration in VKV Mukto
Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Mukto celebrated Universal Brotherhood Day on 11th September 2025 with great enthusiasm and reverence, commemorating Swami Vivekananda’s historic address at the World Parliament of Religions in Chicago on 11th September 1893. The day was observed to spread the message of unity, peace, and harmony as envisioned by Swamiji. The celebration began with the lighting of the lamp and invocation. A welcome song sung by students set the spirit of the day, followed by the welcome address. The program was graced by distinguished guests – Shri Jiarul Hoque, Doctor, PHE, Mukto, Shri Gombu Norbu, Gaon Budha of Mukto, Shri Chorten Norbu, Headmaster of Government Secondary School. Their esteemed presence inspired the students and staff alike. One of the students Kr Tashi Dondup Khom highlighted the importance of the day.
Cultural programmes like Patriotic and local songs, a traditional Monpa dance, drama on Swamiji’s life story along with Chicago Address, another drama on Bhagawan Buddha etc. performed by the students, added colour to the occasion. Addressing the gathering, the esteemed guests appreciated the efforts of the school in instilling values of universal brotherhood, service, and cultural pride among students. They urged the young generation to follow the ideals of Swamiji in their lives to build a harmonious society. The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks and the chanting of the Shanti Mantra, leaving everyone inspired with the ideals of harmony, peace and universal brotherhood.
