70th Van Mahotsav is being celebrated on 06th July 2019 at VKV Koloriang to create awareness about forest and wildlife resources. All the important dignitaries of Kurung Kumey district including DC, DFO and DDSE were present on the occasion. As a part of the celebration, apart from plantation of about 300 plant saplings in the school campus, there were various literary activities such as essay writing, Drawing and Extempore speech competitions on the topics ‘Environmental degradation’ and ‘Global warming’ in which all the students took part actively. In his address, Deputy Commissioner Sri Santosh Kumar Rai highlighted various points on the importance of forest and wildlife resources and encouraged the students to love plants and animals. Sri Gyamar Nima, DFO Kurung kumey Division briefed the students on the need for protection and preservation of rich flora and fauna of the state.
