The entire team of VKV Dollungmukh took the privilege to host and interact with Dr. Sri. Sanjeev Kumar Balyan, the Union Minister of State for Water Resources and Ganga Rejuvenation, Government of India, who  paid a brief visit to the Vidyalaya during the post noon period of this day, as a part of his major visit to the Subansiri Lower Hydro Electric Project of NHPC at Gerukamukh. He was accompanied by Sri. Ratish Kumar, the Director of the Projects of NHPC within the national borders, Sri. D. Dayal and Sri. A.K. Sarkar the Executive Directors of Design and Planning respectively from the corporate office of NHPC at Delhi.

It’s obvious to mention here that the Union Minister and the other dignitaries had a galaxy of the officials of the Subansiri Lower Hydro Electric Project of NHPC at Gerukamukh, under the leadership of the Executive Director Sri. Rakesh with them during their visit. A grand traditional welcome was offered to the distinguished dignitaries by the family members of the Vidyalaya including the students. All the dignitaries including Dr. Sri. Sanjeev Kumar Balyan happily accepted the same. All the dignitaries visited the hostels and Dr. Sri. Sanjeev Kumar Balyan, personally commented on the internal and external arrangements of the hostels. Of course he was highly impressed. As per the initiation of Sri. Rakesh, the Executive Director of Subansiri Lower Hydro Electric Project of NHPC at Gerukamukh, Sri. R. Murugan, the Principal of the Vidyalaya described about Vivekananda Kendra as a whole and VKVs in the state in particular in a nutshell to the Union Minister. Also the preliminary details (Strength of the students, staff, age of the Vidyalaya, etc...) presented by the Principal in a pinpointed way paved way for the dignitaries to get a brief description of the Vidyalaya.

The climax of the visit was the interaction of the Union Minister with Kr. Bini Sunny of Class IV, for the utilization of school library to a highest extent by reading 103 library books during the last academic session, which was initiated by Sri. Ratish Kumar, the Director of the Projects of NHPC. All the team members were formally introduced to the Union Minister as he happily accepted for the same and also there was a group photo session with the family members of the Vidyalaya inclusive of all the 47 hostellers. All the hostellers took the blessings of the minister and this action of the students elevated the impression of the Vidyalaya among the gathering as a whole and Dr. Sri. Sanjeev Kumar Balyan in particular.

Thus this day would remain in the history of the Vidyalaya as a remarkable one as the Union Minister Dr. Sri. Sanjeev Kumar Balyan had registered his remarks in the Visitor’s Register of the Vidyalaya as “Very Beautiful and Inspiring”.
