Library Week Observations for the session 2016 – 17, in VKV Dollungmukh comprised of a galaxy of activities and competitions from 19.11.2016 – 26.11.2016. The entire family of the Vidyalaya played an active role in the same with true spirit and enthusiasm to make the observations a grand successful one in all the spheres. The glimpses of the weeklong programme is mentioned hereunder.

The observations commenced with the formal inauguration of the “Creativity Exhibition” on 19.11.2016, by Sri. M. A. Padmanabhachar, the Chief of Electrical and Mechanical Division of Subansiri Lower Hydro Electric Project of NHPC at Gerukamukh. He was given a brief description regarding the Library Week Observations in VKVs by Sri. R. Murugan, the Principal of the Vidyalaya, along with the significance of the day speech on “Sadhana Diwas”- the Birth Anniversary of Mananeeya Eknathji Ranade, the spirit behind Vivekananda Rock Memorial and Vivekananda Kendra and VKVs in Arunachal Pradesh. He was very well impressed by the creativity of the students exposed in the form of charts and displays.

The “Creativity Exhibition” remained open throughout the week for the students, parents, well wishers and NHPC officials to visit the same. There was a good number of parents, well wishers and NHPC officials who visited the exhibition. All of them were highly impressed by the display of the talents of the students. Mananeeya Pravin Dabholkarji, one of the Joint General Secretaries of Vivekananda Rock Memorial and Vivekananda Kendra cum the Secretary of VKVs in North East visited the same along with Sri. Anand Mohan Mishra, the Principal of VKV Ziro cum the Cluster In Charge of Subansiri Cluster, during their visit to the Vidyalaya on 23.11.2016. Mananeeya Pravinji appreciated the artistic skill of the students on the drawings of Mananeeya Eknathji and Vivekananda Rock Memorial.

Book Collection Drive, being a part of the observations brought a good result in increasing the number of books in the school library, by the generous contribution of the parents and the family members of the Vidyalaya.

The weeklong programme was officially culminated on 26.11.2016, though the culmination programme was organised on 28.11.2016. Sri. Amresh Kumar, the General Manager of Subansiri Lower Hydro Electric Project of NHPC at Gerukamukh graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He visited the Creativity Exhibition and display of the books donated by the family members and students of the Vidyalaya. He expressed his extreme happiness and appreciated the skill of the students. While addressing the audience, he mentioned that “Knowledge is the strength of an individual which can be obtained only through reading books”. He also insisted the students to read books daily and make it as a part of their daily routine. All the winners of the literary competitions conducted during the observations were awarded by the Chief Guest.
