The 147th Birth Anniversay of the Father of the Nation was celebrated over the national borders on 02.10.2016 with the spirit of patriotism. In connection with the same, Subansiri Lower Hydro Electric Project of NHPC at Gerukamukh organised a small programme in our Vidyalaya and Sri. Rakesh, the Executive Director of the Project unveiled the bust of Gandhi in the academic block, which is in the final stage of construction.

As a response to the request offered by the project of NHPC, the students of our Vidyalaya exhibited a sequence of colourful cultural programmes, which highly impressed the entire gathering of the hub of officials of NHPC, parents, well wishers and public from the locality of Kalaptukar. The Executive Director and his core team were received by the traditional system by the team of the Vidyalaya, parents and public.  The Executive Director unveiled the bust of Gandhi in the background of a loud applause of the entire gathering. Following that all the officials of NHPC, the nuclear family of the Vidyalaya and other prominent personalities garlanded the bust. It was followed by a plantation drive by all the officials of NHPC and other personalities including Sri. R. Murugan, the Principal of the Vidyalaya. Later the gathering assembled at the hall which is proposed for library in the new academic block. The proceeding commenced with invocation by the students of our Vidyalaya. Sri. R. Murugan, the Principal of the welcomed the gathering in a befitting way. The cultural programme comprised of Gita chanting in group (12 couplets of the 16th chapter), speech on Gandhi, Bhajan (Raghupathi Raghav Rajaram....) of Gandhi and traditional dance separately by boys and girls. Sri. Rakesh, the Executive Director, addressed the gathering and recalled the principles and ideologies of Gandhi and appealed the gathering to adopt the same in their life. Also he registered his remarks on the performance of the students as; it’s doubtless that they would uphold the principles of Gandhi, as they are groomed in a systematic way in all the spheres by their teachers and assured that the project would take up the necessary infrastructural works which are in pending in the Vidyalaya at the earliest. Sri. Radhe Krishna Prasad, Teacher of the Vidyalaya delivered the vote of thanks which was followed by Shanti Mantra. The total attendance of the proceeding was 115 including the officials of NHPC, staff and students of the Vidyalaya, parents, well wishers and public from the locality of Kalaptukar.
