
The 163rd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Roing. The celebration, held in the school auditorium, was beautifully organized to mark National Youth Day. The program began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the dispelling of ignorance and the illumination of knowledge. A prayer invoking divine blessings followed, setting a serene and respectful tone for the event.
Adding vibrancy to the atmosphere, primary students performed a captivating rendition of the song "BhuvanMandaleNavayugMudayut." Their voices, filled with energy and devotion, brought grandeur and warmth to the gathering.
Sri PrasantaPuzari, the Principal of VKV Roing, extended a heartfelt welcome to the dignitaries, parents, teachers, and students. He spoke about the various activities conducted during Samarth Bharat Parva, a celebration of national pride and unity, while expressing sincere gratitude to everyone who supported the school’s outreach programs. His words reflected the spirit of community and collaboration that drove the event's success.
In an engaging and insightful speech, Sri Raju Mishra emphasized the enduring relevance of Swami Vivekananda’s teachings. He highlighted Swamiji’s lifelong dedication to empowering the youth and awakening a sense of national pride. Sri Mishra also presented a detailed account of the outreach programs carried out during Samarth Bharat Parva, (25/04/2024 to 11/01/2025) inspired by Swamiji’s vision of a strong, united, and service-driven society. The video of the entire activities was also showcased before the audience.
The next part of the program honored distinguished guests. The Chief Guest, Sri Komji Linggi, ZPM Roing, was felicitated with a traditional welcome. Other prominent guests included:

Each guest was presented with a token of appreciation, acknowledging their presence and contributions.
The prize distribution ceremony saw Sri Komji Linggi presenting awards to the winners of various competitions held during Samarth Bharat Parva. Students had enthusiastically participated in contests such as Extempore Speech, Essay Writing, Drawing, and Quiz, all reflecting their engagement with the values of Swami Vivekananda. In his address, Sri Linggi urged students to embody Swamiji’s teachings in their lives. He also shared personal anecdotes from his school days at VKV Roing, fostering a connection with the young audience.
Cultural Programs:
The event continued with vibrant cultural performances, where students and guests alike were entertained and inspired by a rich variety of artistic displays:
· A Group Dance performed by students from Nani Maria School, Roing, filled with energy and grace.
· A colorful Nepali Dance presented by students from Divine Word Public School, Roing, showcasing cultural diversity.
· A Traditional Dance performed by the Women’s Group from Abango Village, highlighting the region’s cultural heritage.
· A special demonstration of Yoga and Mallakhamb by VKV Roing students, showcasing strength, balance, and the importance of physical fitness.
The entire event was skillfully anchored by Class XI students Km. Vaishnavi Pradhan and Km. Anandita Sarkar, whose confident and fluent presentation added charm and coherence to the proceedings. Their performance as hosts kept the program engaging and well-paced.
The event concluded with the chanting of the Shanti Mantra, invoking peace and unity. Sri Bijit Paul delivered a thoughtful vote of thanks, expressing appreciation for the efforts of organizers, participants, and attendees. He also acknowledged the dedicated planning and coordination by Sri Madan Kr. Sarkar, Sri Kishore Kr. Nath, and other teachers, whose hard work ensured the success of the celebration.
A total of 32 teachers, 172 students, and 88 parents and family members attended the event. The celebration of Vivekananda Jayanti at VKV Roing was a memorable and meaningful tribute to the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda, inspiring all present to embrace his ideals of courage, service, and dedication to personal and national growth.
