
The National Mathematics Day, 22nd December 2025, was observed in VKV Roing, keeping in mind the theme “Mathematics Art and Creativity”. The morning assembly was conducted in two places
1. Primary block:
⮚ A wall magazine was inaugurated.
⮚ The importance of the day was shared by one of the class V students, Km Shelly Chongtham.
⮚ The wall magazine’s points were highlighted by Km Medha Tiwari.
⮚ Sri Madan Kumar Sarkar, vice principal of VKV Roing, inaugurated the same and spoke on the day.
2. Middle block:
⮚ In the middle block, a combined assembly was conducted for classes VI to XII.
⮚ The importance of the day was shared by Kr. Krish Chetry of class XI Sc. He highlighted different points like Ramanijan’s life journey in brief, contribution of Srinivasa Ramanujan in mathematics and mathematics in an universal language that binds humanity.
⮚ Inauguration of the wall magazine by Sri Shyamal Chakraborty, Principal, VKV Roing.
⮚ A brief description of the magazine was delivered by Kr. Layo Mipi of class XI Sc. He talked about the creativity of mathematics, components of the wall magazine in three sections first, important facts as formulas found in our surroundings, second importance of mathematics in developing creativity, third, about Ramanujan and his contribution to the world’s mathematics.
After one week, there will be a Quiz on the concept of mathematics displayed in the wall magazines.

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Roing, proudly represented Lower Dibang Valley at the State Youth Festival held at DK Convention Center, Itanagar, on 18 December 2025, and achieved an outstanding milestone by securing *First Prizes* in four categories.

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Roing, organized the School-Level Science Exhibition with great enthusiasm and participation from all sections of the school. Smt. Omem Lego, Vice Principal of GHSS Roing, was the Chief Guest for the event.
She visited all the exhibits, interacted with the students, and asked them about the working and usefulness of their models in daily life. She appreciated the efforts, creativity, and confidence of the students and encouraged them to continue learning through experiments and observations.
In total, 198 models were displayed by students from Primary, Middle, and Higher Secondary levels. The models covered a wide range of topics such as Renewable Energy, Water Conservation, Rainwater Harvesting, Waste Management, Human Body Systems, Smart Agriculture, Environmental Protection, and Modern Technology in Daily Life.
Parents were also invited to witness the exhibition. They showed great interest in the students’ projects and appreciated the school’s efforts in providing such a platform for creative learning.

The Eknathji Memorial Football Cluster Level Tournament – 2025 was inaugurated with great enthusiasm and a spirit of healthy competition at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Roing, on 17th October 2025. Sri Shyamal Chakraborty, Principal, VKV Roing, warmly welcomed the Chief Guest, all participants, and escort teachers. In his address, he emphasized the true spirit and purpose of the tournament — fostering discipline, teamwork, and holistic development among students. The tournament pledge was also administered to mark the beginning of the event.
Officials from ITBP and other experts from the field were invited to serve as referees, ensuring fair and professional conduct of the matches.
Shri Pujom Buchi, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Roing (APPS), and an alumnus of VKV Kuporijo, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and inaugurated the tournament. In his inspiring address, he motivated the students to uphold the values of discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship both on and off the field.
Tournament Schedule and Participants:
The tournament was conducted over two days, from 17th to 18th October 2025, with the participation of four schools ( VKV Amliang, VKV Tezu, VKV Namsai and VKV Roing )comprising 56 students.

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Roing, celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi with devotion and enthusiasm. The special feature of this year’s celebration was that the students themselves prepared the idols of Lord Ganesha. All six boys’ hostels took part in this creative activity. For one week, students worked in their free time to carefully and patiently shape the idols. They also painted them beautifully and made small pandals for Murti Pratishthapana. For many of the students, it was a completely new and joyful experience.
On the day of the festival, the idols from all the hostels were brought to the school auditorium in a colourful procession accompanied by the school band. The auditorium was filled with a devotional atmosphere as the Puja and Havan were performed. The puja was initiated by Sri Dev Dutta Upadhya. After the puja, Sri Gauranga Das addressed the gathering and explained the importance of Ganesh Chaturthi and how such celebrations bring spiritual strength, unity, and joy to everyone.
At the end of the programme, prasad of modak, the favourite sweet of Lord Ganesha, was distributed among all. The presence of Lord Ganesha in the school for three days will surely create a divine and spiritual ambience for students and staff alike.

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Roing, celebrated Shri Krishna Janmashtami with devotion, joy, and creativity. The celebration was held in a different and unique manner this year, which made the occasion more memorable for everyone.
1. Morning Celebration – Dahi Handi Competition (Pot Braking Competition)
After the morning prayer, all six ganas of hostel students gathered on the school ground for the Dahi Handi (Pot Breaking Competition). The pot was tied high above 15 feet, and each gana prepared its plan under the guidance of its gana pramukh and gana adhikari.
With great enthusiasm and team spirit, the students made human pyramids to reach the pot. Their unity, courage, and coordination were visible. Finally, the pot was broken successfully, and the ground echoed with cheers and joy.
The event was conducted smoothly and safely. It was a new and exciting experience for the hostel students, and everyone enjoyed the festive spirit.
2. Evening Celebration – Temple Making & Krishna Bhajan
In the evening, the celebration continued with Hostel-wise Temple Making and Krishna Bhajan Competitions. All six hostels actively participated in the programme. With the guidance of their hostel in-charges, students used available resources to design beautiful temples. Each temple reflected the creativity, devotion, and teamwork of the hostel groups.
Along with temple making, students also presented melodious Krishna Bhajans. The soulful singing filled the atmosphere with devotion and joy, making everyone feel the divine presence of Lord Krishna.
The Principal, along with a team of teachers, supervised the activities. The nominated judges examined the temples and evaluated the Bhajan presentations.
The day-long Janmashtami celebration at VKV Roing not only reminded everyone of the divine childhood of Lord Krishna but also helped students learn the values of teamwork, discipline, creativity, and devotion. With the participation of all 180 hostel students and residential staff, the celebration became a true festival of joy, unity, and spirituality.

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Roing, celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great pride, enthusiasm, and patriotic spirit. The celebration began early in the morning at 5:30 am with a colourful and energetic procession. All the students, dressed neatly in their uniforms, marched from the school gate through part of the town market. Their loud and inspiring patriotic slogans echoed through the streets, drawing the attention of shopkeepers, residents, and passers-by, and spreading the spirit of freedom across the community.
At 6:10 am, the entire school assembled on the ground for the formal programme. The Principal, Sri Shyamal Chakraborty, hoisted the national flag with dignity, while the gathering proudly sang the National Anthem. He then inspected the smartly turned-out contingents of the school’s march-past teams and band. The students displayed remarkable discipline, coordination, and confidence, filling the audience with pride.
In his speech, Sri Shyamal Chakraborty spoke warmly about India’s progress since independence and reminded everyone of the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters. He urged the students to take inspiration from their dedication and to contribute positively to the nation’s growth. “Our independence was hard-earned,” he said, “and it is our duty as responsible citizens to protect and preserve it.”
Later, at 9:00 am, the boys’ and girls’ march-past contingents, along with the school band, took part in the District Administration’s Independence Day parade at the General Ground. The school band’s outstanding performance drew much appreciation from the audience, and the girls’ march-past team participated in the district parade after many years, making the occasion even more memorable.
A total of 588 students from Classes I to XII and 32 teachers and staff members joined in the celebrations, making it a day filled with unity, joy, and deep respect for the nation.
