Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, January 21, 2025: Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (VKV) in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, commemorated the National Youth Day with great fervor and enthusiasm. This annual event honors the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, promoting national integration, social cohesion, cultural exchange, and disseminating his teachings and philosophy.

The program, attended by students, parents, teachers, and guests from various schools and professions, showcased a rich cultural heritage through traditional dances, patriotic songs, classical dances, and Hanuman Chalisa chanting. The students' talents highlighted the diverse cultural vibrancy of Arunachal Pradesh and the North-East.

The Principal, Sri A. Krishnan's welcome speech provided insightful perspectives on the school and its students' talents. The program commenced with Ekkya Mantra and the lighting of auspicious diyas by the chief guest and dignitaries.

Sri Rohit Rajbir Singh, IPS, SP Itanagar, the chief guest, emphasized the National Youth Day's significance in promoting unity and national integration among youth. He also addressed pressing issues affecting today's youth, such as maintaining relationships in both physical and virtual lives. The other special dignitaries of the events are Dr. Tadar Emika, Alumnus VKV; Sri Harnam Singh, Khelo India; Sri Sraban Saha, Inspector PHQ; Sri Subrata Deb, AT SLSA Chimpu and Smt. Rita Mandal, the Principal Incharge of Vivekananda Central School Itanagar have honoured the event with their presence.

"As a representative of the Police department, I've noticed that youth often struggle with relationship issues, disappear from homes, and neglect academics due to excessive smartphone use. I urge parents to decide whether to provide smartphones to their children," Mr. Singh said.

The event included a prize distribution ceremony, recognizing students' excellence in leadership, sports, creative skills, and other activities. The prizes, awarded by dignitaries, encouraged critical thinking, creativity, and intellectual curiosity.

The National Youth Day celebration at VKV Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, concluded with a speech by the Vice Principal. The event's success was evident in the appreciation from participants and guests alike, acknowledging the school's efforts in promoting national integration and cultural exchange.
