Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Itanagar celebrated the 160th “Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda as National Youth Day” in Eknathji Centenary Bhavan from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm.

Sri. Lokam Anand IMC-Corporator graced the occasion as a chief guest and Sri. Tokong Pertin, Rtd. Director Trade & Commerce, SSG member as a guest of honor.  The guests were formally welcomed and felicitated by Sri. A. Krishnan, Principal VKV Itanagar.

In a chief guest address Sri. Lokam Anand urged the students to take up one idea and work on it passionately to realize it.   He has also announced to repair of the dilapidated condition of the school road & accomplish the remaining concrete work of the front side road of the school. He had furthermore given prizes to notable achievements of the students of this academic year.

The occasion was also marked by different programs presented by students.

203 parents along with 215 students and 43 teachers attended the school programme. Moreover, 150 NSS volunteers along with six teachers attended National Youth Day programme at D. K Convention Hall Itanagar. Our students sang invocation and patriotic song in the programme. 

The school has also organized a District level Traditional Dance and Drama Competition in which two teams gracefully participated:-

  1. Galo Group Dance (Banderdewa)
  2. Galo Group Dance (B.N Colony)

 

The performance of the team was assessed by an esteemed panel of judges.

  2. Sri. Goli Nyodu (Associate Prof. D.N College Itanagar)
  3. Sri. Karli Poyam (Teacher of VKV Itanagar)

 

Galo Group Dance (B.N Colony) secured the first position with 20000/- cash prize.
