The  8th International Day of Yoga was celebrated in our School Auditorium  in collaboration with  STATE NSS CELL, DIRECTORATE OF HIGHER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION, ITANAGAR by  joining hundreds of participants  performing the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) on 21st June from 07:00 am. There were invitees from various Govt. Offices.  The Chief Guests present on the occasion was Sri TOKONG PERTIN, Former Director of Trade & Commerce, GoAP, also SSG member, VKV Itanagar.

Apart from that Sri RAVIKANT ALTEKARJI, Retd. Scientist, BARC, and Sri A. KRISHNAN Sir, Principal, VKV Itanagar, were also present on the occasion.

The following was the AGENDA of the Programme:

   - Lighting the lamp with Invocation song.

   - Significance of the Day – By Sri ARUN KUMAR PANDEY

   - Presentation and Display of YOGA by the students

   - Shantri Mantra.

88 Students from Classes IX – XII and 31 residential teachers of the host school along with the Chief Guest took active part in the YOGA Demonstration and Display led by Sri DHANAJI TUKARAM BHENDEWADEKAR synchronized with the running commentary of the various Asanas by Sri ARUN KUMAR PANDEY.

A total of 31 Yoga Asanas were performed from 7.00am to 7.50am.

It was followed by the OATH taking ceremony.

Apart from this indoor programme 3 TEAMS of our school along with the escorts went to various Govt Offices in and around Itanagar township for leading Yoga.

They were (1) Km. SUNASHI NAMCHOOM & Km. VIDYA DHANAJI B. along with escort Sri PASANG TSERING went to NEHRU YUVA KENDRA, YUPIA and they could involve 39 Officers and Volunteers of NEHRU YUVA KENDRA in the mass demonstration of Yoga Asanas.

(2) Km. BOMMAN ERING & Km. TASHI DREMA along with escort Smt. LATHI V. NAIR went to CIVIL SECRETARIAT, ITANAGAR. They could involve 61 Officers and well-wishers.

(3) Km. PHASSANG ANIYA along with Smt. Amutha Krishnan went to the LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY, NAHARLAGUN. They could involve 43 Officers and well-wishers.

(4) Km. YAM YANGFO, Km. OSINAM PARON and Km. SWETA YADAV led the  88 student participants, 31 teachers and the Chief Guest in the mass YOGA DEMONSTRATION in the school Auditorium.

During the School hours a total of 602 students from Classes I to XII performed mass demonstration of YOGA ASANAS led by Sri DHANAJI TUKARAM BHENDEWADEKAR, PET, VKV Itanagar.
