73th Independence Day & Rakshabandhan was celebrated at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Itanagar with gaiety and fevour.  As it was reminder of how Rakshabandhan is associated with India's struggle for independence. 
At the outset the National Flag was hoisted in the school premises by Shri. Dr. Kakade Rajendra Chhagan, Principal VKV Itanagar followed by his address to the assembly of students and teachers on the auspicious occasion of Independence Day & Rakshabandhan. 
It was followed by :

  1. Rakshabandhan Celebration in Eknathji Centenary Bhavan where Shri Pankaj Kumar addressed all the gathering and told the significance of the day. 
    Thereafter all the girls tied sacred thread on the wrists of brothers. 

        2.Then there were House-wise Cultural Competitions of  Patriotic & Traditional Dance, Patriotic Songs Competition of boys. Each house has represented their

Patriotic Dance with unique themes. Total 600 students along with staff, parents & well wishers attended the programme
