In order to celebrate the birthday of Lord Krishna, Primary Children of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Itanagar, celebrated Krishna Janmashtami with pomp and festivity on 1st September 2018. The programme was started with Mangalacharan, Shri D K Mishra graced the occasion. In his speech, he talked about Sri Krishna, one of the most power full incarnations of Vishnu. He advised the students as well as to the audience to follow the path of Sri Krishna’s doctrine.

Dr. Kakade Rajendra Chhagan, Principal VKV, Itanagar welcomed everyone cordially. Dr. Shiva Prasad Mishra, Hindi faculty, briefed about the significance of the day which made the celebration more meaningful.

The event comprised by Bhajans of Sri Krishna followed by the traditional dance of the girl students of Class V A, heartwarming drama performance was given by the students of class III and IV showing us how good work is rewarded by Karma. Another soul touching dance performance was presented by the girls of class IV on “kanha so ja zara”. Action song by the students of class I filled the atmosphere with fun and frolic. A fancy dress show with the girls decked up as Radha and the boys as Sri Krishna lighted up the stage and mesmerized the audience with their laudable performance.

Almost all the primary students participated enthusiastically and about more than 350 parents attended and enjoyed the programme. Smt. Suparna Ghosh Dutta, in charge of primary section, conveyed the vote of thanks.
