Vivekananda Kendra, Arunachal Prant, VKVs Itanagar and Vivek Vihar have celebrated the National Youth Day in commemoration with the birthday of Swami Vivekananda at VKV, Itanagar in a befitting way. The celebration was marked with the District Level Traditional Dance and Drama Competition. Sri. Techi Tolu, ZPM, Borum has graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his key note address, Sri. T. Tolu has expressed that Swami Vivekananda not only inspired the youth of India but the whole world. He has also mentioned that the youth are to be trained well as because the resources of Arunachal are plenty which are to be managed well.

Sri Taba Tatup, Prant Karyalaya Pramukh, Vivekananda Kendra, Arunachal Prant briefed the importance of preserving our age old cultural practices in the midst of globalization and advent of western influence on our traditional beliefs, faith and culture.


Sri Taro Sindik, Assistant Professor, Donyi Polo Govt. College, Kamki expressed on the importance of the day that Arunachal Pradesh has a rich cultural heritage, which is gradually being eroded due to deviation from the main stream of belief and faith. Sri Gechik Taza, Vice President, IFCSAP spoke on the occasion about the need of transmitting traditional culture to the younger generation by the elderly persons in the society.

Sri Gechik Taza, Su. Toku Mompa, Civil engineer, Dr. Tadam Ruti, Assistant Professor, Govt. College, Nyapin were the judges for the competition. The drama team from Doimukh circle and the dance team from Kargu Gamgi, Itanagar have adjudged with the best team in the concerned categories.

About 300 students and parents along with the staff of VKV Itanagar and Vivek Vihar attended the programme.
