The 'Hindi Diwas' had been celebrated at VKV, Itanagar as 'Hindi Saptah' from 14th September 2016 to 22nd September 2016. The program was inaugurated on 14th September 2016 by Su. Sutapa Roy, Nagar Sangatak, Vivekananda Kendra, Itanagar.

There were many programs in Hindi organized in connection with the same. Some of the programs organized were

   * Poem recitation (Self-composed),

   * Gazal Singing,

   * Quizzes on Swamiji, Vivekananda Kendra and Maa Eknathji,

   * Sahyeri recitation,

   * Patriotic song singing,

   * Rashtriya Sangeet, etc.

On 22nd September 2016, the valedictory function was graced by Dr V N Sharma, State Liaisoning Officer, NSS, Government of Arunachal Pradesh as the Chief Guest. The winners were felicitated. They have also presented their prize-winning poems, sawyer is, songs, gazals, Rashtriya sangeets, etc. In the keynote address, Dr V N Sharma has expressed that to understand Arunachal, one must know Arunachali Hindi. He also said that Arunachal is the only North-Eastern State where Hindi has become a common man's language. He also guided the children to have the right attitude towards the national language. He also appreciated VKVs for providing platforms for children to awaken their inner talents through various competitions. The program was ended with 'Shanti Mantra'.
