FROM 9th AUGUST-14th AUGUST-2016 REPORT

In this Vivek inspire workshop 49 students participated from 8 VKVS such as VKV Itanagar, Vivek Vihar, Nivedita Vihar, Seijosa, Oyan Banderdewa, Balijan and VKV Nirjulee.

Resource persons of this workshop came from Jnana probodhini Pune, Su Sri. Mrinmayi, Isha , Nivedita Pongshe, Vidula Kulkarni   and Anirudh Guhade.

All the students reported on 8th August 2016 on evening along with their escort teachers at VKV Itanagar.

This camp started from 9th August and it concluded on 14th August 2016. Sri Take Tare, Director of Elementary Education Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh inaugurated the Shibir. He appreciated the initiative of the VKVAPT for training the gifted students to excel in competitive exams and other life skills.

During this 6 days students learnt various active learning techniques such GMAT- General mental ability test such as mirror and water images, coding and decoding, classification, Analogy and figure series etc. Students also learnt how to make science models such as making of Aeroplane using paper, Kaleidoscope using mirrors and its concept was very interesting, practical and more enjoyable for the students, observation skills – in this group activity each group has to observe different environment and list their observations for example playground, corridor, hostel(boys & girls), auditorium and emotional culture.

In this camp each day stated with Morning Prayer and yoga sessions. Students learnt relaxation techniques and a few Asanas and pranayamas for their physical mental development. This session taken by Sri. Dr. Rajendra Kakade, K. K. Subramaniam and Sri. Pankaj Kumar teachers of VKV Itanagar.

During this camp student also learnt how to use leisure time more effective by doing creative work like painting, puzzles and readings etc.

Students also had games period in which they played different games like football, basketball, volley ball, goal kho-kho etc. and lot of fun.

Every day after supper students were shown educative short films like Swadesh, Kung Fu Panda etc.

All the students actively participated during this workshop with enthusiasm and spirit. This workshop will definitely help the students to the normal academic subjects as well as to face various competitive exams like NTSE, NMMS etc. in future. This camp helped the students to develop systematic thinking process which leads them to succeed in different challenges which may come across on the way in their life.

A valedictory function was arranged on 14th August at 10a.m. Sri. Tokong Pertin, Director, trade and commerce, Govt.of Arunachal Pradesh was the chief Guest. Sri. Ravikantji  Retd. Senior Scientist, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai, Sri. Rupesh Mathurji, Joint Secretary, VKVAPT Dibrugarh also graced the occasion. During the valedictory function students also exhibited their models and other creative items made by them during this workshop. Sri. Tokong Pertin advised to the students to be sincere, discipline and keep the environment clean by developing good habits. He also mentioned the values upheld by the father of nation Mahatma Gandhiji. Sri. K. Jaisankar, Principal VKV Itanagar also addressed the audience and briefed the objectives of Vivek Inspired program. Program ended with shanti mantra.
