Universal Brotherhood Day was celebrated at VKV Vivek Vihar school premises with complete fervour to mark the 124th Anniversary of the historic Chicago Address delivered by the great cyclonic monk of India, Swami Vivekananda.

Shri Prince Dhawan, IAS,  Hon’ble Deputy Commissioner, Capital Complex was the Chief Guest to grace the  occasion .

Shri Pradeep Y., Principal VKV Vivek Vihar welcomed the happy assembly of Hon’ble Chief Guest, respected parents of Class-X, teaching faculty and the students of Classes VI to X of the host school.
Hon’ble Chief Guest was felicitated on the occasion.

The significance of the day was highlighted by Shri Satish Kumar, Teacher of the host school.

A replica of the historic speech was given by Kumar Lizom Doye, a student of Class-V of the host school.

In his keynote address, Hon’ble Chief Guest motivated the children in taking active part in maintaining cleanliness. Stopping betrayal and making Arunachal Pradesh an ideal place to live in.

He stresses that Education is a 5 kilometre race in which the slow and steady will win.

He added that those who make enthusiasm in the beginning, but leave in between, can’t achieve success.

He made the children to remember the ideology of Swami Vivekananda and do justice to themselves, their family, their religion, country and finally the whole world.

The assembly was entertained with various cultural programmes like Patriotic Group Song, Local Galo Group Dance, Classical Duet Dance and a drama highlighting some glimpses from the life of Swami Vivekananda from his early childhood days until the time he delivered the historic Chicago Address at the Columbus Hall at Chicago on 11th September, 1893.

Finally the programme concluded with the National anthem.
