A REPORT ON FINAL ‘MANDAKINI’ MEMORIAL KHOKHO AND ALL VKV VOLLEY BALL TOURNAMENTS

The final ‘Mandakini’ Memorial Khokho and all VKV Volley ball tournaments were conducted at VKV Sunpura on 18th and 19th of Nov’16. A Total number of 84 Khokho and 63 Volley ball participants from 12 VKVs participated in it. Sri R.Krishnamurty briefed the participants about the rules and regulations. Sri Krishnakumarji, member of VKVAPT and Sri P.K.Pandey, CIC were also present during the introduction of match officials and participants. Sri Bibhuti bhusan Bal, principal of VKV Sunpura did welcome the participants, match officials, escort teachers and officers of VKVAPT. Sri Krishnakumarji urged the participants to play the matches with sportsman spirit.

The tournament was inaugurated on 18-11-16 at 9am by Major Shasi Kumar, Office in Commandant, Indian Army, Sadiya . Sri Bibhuti bhusan Bal, Principal of VKV Sunpura did welcome all. Sri Unnikrishnan P.M., Education Officer, VKVAPT recalled Mandakini Didi in his address. Major Shasi Kumar blessed the participants and praised the works of Vivekananda Kendra in his short speech.

A colourful mega dance was presented by the students of VKV Sunpura which marked the starting of the tournament. The tournament began with Khokho match played between VKV Ziro and VKV Nirjuli. A total number of 06 Khokho matches and 06 volleyball matches were played on the first day of the tournament.

The rest of the matches including finals (total= 8) were played on the second day. Sri Danish Asraff, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Lohit District was the chief guest in the valedictory function. He witnessed the final match of Khokho played between VKV Tafrogam and VKV Balijan. Sri Unnikrishnan P.M.,Education Officer , VKVAPT did welcome all and briefed about the importance of games and sports in school curriculum. He highlighted the life of Mandakini Didi in his address. He also felicitated the match officials. The chief guest presented the trophies and medals to the winners and other successful players. In his short speech he praised the role of VK and urged the audience to create more and more friends.
